Learn how to make snacks that will melt in your mouth! This class features tips on kitchen safety, table settings and how to use utensils. OUTDOORS/NATURE Hunter Education

This 3-day course is the official training program that will provide kids ages 11 and older, with the knowledge, skills and safety to be a responsible hunter in Kansas. Students must attend all 3-days and complete the 15-hours of safety education to receive their certification. Parents are encouraged to attend.

This class will be a hoot as you learn more about the types of owls in Kansas, their habitats, sounds and the best places to find them. See live owls and touch study skins, owl talons, feathers and skulls. Then you’ll get to dissect an owl pellet to determine what it ate from the bones found. Park Villa Community Facility, 1029 N. Junior Water Scientist NEW!

Spring Break just got better! What better way to discover water’s unusual behaviors than going creeking! Investigate some of the critters that live in its soggy depths and engineer some solutions to drought and pollution. Students will be given a journal to record the week’s data and the bag to collect materials. Students should plan on getting muddy so wear appropriate clothing. Offered by the WATER Center, 101 E.
