The Auditioned Gena Alexander Conductor, Sinfonia Joining the Oklahoma Youth Orchestras staff in 2006, Gena was previously the orchestra director at Hefner Middle School in the Putnam City School District for two years. She is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, where she earned a degree in Instrumental Music Education and has served as an adjunct professor at Oklahoma Christian University.
An active violinist, Mrs. Alexander currently performs with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra and Lawton Philharmonic. In addition to performing professionally, she currently teaches private Suzuki violin in her Edmond studio. Involved in the Suzuki Association of the Americas, as well as the American String Teachers Association, Alexander has a passion for teaching young musicians.
