Feliciano Aromin Doña

October 20, 1940 - May 14, 2014

“Forever in Our Hearts” Thursday, June 5 2014 | 6:30 PM Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary (Mililani)

Entrance Song : Amazing Grace 1. Amazing grace, How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; was blind, but now I see.

3. Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come; ‘tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.

2. ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved; how precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed.

4. The Lord has promised good to me, his word my hope secures; he will my shield and portion be, as long as life endures.

Sprinkling of Holy Water

Liturgy Of The Word Of God A reading from the Book of Wisdom (3:1-6, 9) (Read by Nicholas Howcumfu)

In the waters of baptism, Feliciano A Doña died with Christ and rose with Him to a new life. May he now share with Him eternal glory. Our brother, Feliciano A Doña has gone to his rest in the peace of Christ. May the Lord now welcome him to the table of God’s children in heaven. With faith and hope in eternal life, we rejoice knowing that he now has a new home. Priest: Let us pray. O God, to whom mercy and forgiveness belong, hear our prayers on behalf of your servant Feliciano A Doña, whom you have called out of this world; and because he put his hope and trust in you, command that he be carried safely home to heaven and come to enjoy your eternal reward. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. People: Amen.

The souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them. They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace. For if before men, indeed, they be punished, yet is their hope full of immortality; chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of himself. As gold in the furnace, he proved them, and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself. Those who trust in him shall understand truth, and the faithful shall abide with him in love: because grace and mercy are with His holy ones, and his care is with his elect. The Word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God!

Responsorial Psalm Ps 23:1-3, 3-4, 5, 6 (Read by Nicholas Howcumfu) R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. Leader: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. In verdant pastures he gives me repose; beside restful waters he leads me; he refreshes my soul. R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. Leader: He guides me in right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk in the dark valley I fear no evil; for you are at my side with your rod and your staff that give me courage. R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. Leader:. You spread the table before me in the sight of my foes; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. Leader: Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come. R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

A reading from the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians 4:14--5:1 (Read by Jonah Fonacier) Brothers and sisters: Knowing that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and place us with you in his presence. Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God. Therefore, we are not discouraged; rather, although our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this momentary light affliction is producing

for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to what is seen but to what is unseen; for what is seen is transitory, but what is unseen is eternal. For we know that if our earthly dwelling, a tent, should be destroyed, we have a building from God, a dwelling not made with hands, eternal in heaven. The Word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God!

Gospel Reading: A reading from the gospel of John (14:1-6)

Jesus said to his disciples: . o not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith D also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. The gospel of the Lord. All: Praise To You, Lord Jesus Christ!

Closing Song : How Great Thou Art O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder Consider all the *worlds thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the *rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed:

And when I think that God, his Son not sparing, Sent him to die, I scarce can take it in, That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin.

Refrain

Refrain

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee: How great thou art! How great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee: How great thou art! How great thou art!

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee: How great thou art! How great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee: How great thou art! How great thou art!

When through the woods and forest glades I wander And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees, When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur, And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart! Then *I shall bow in humble adoration, And there proclaim, My God, how great thou art!
