MODERN CHURCH Fifth Year Architecture Project
The project involved creating a church on any desired site in the city, with the sole mention that it should not be placed in an area already populated by them. The site i chose was on a hillside, that would offer a panoramic view of the city while also letting it be seen from far away.
Ground Floor 3d Section
Site study The first phase of the project, involved studying the area and motivating our decision why we selected that site. The first image on the left highlights the two sites that I’ve picked and what made me choose the final site. After that I followed with a SWOT analysis of the site & area, and then highlighted two other possible location that a church could be placed. In the center area of the second image on the left, you can see a sound pollution diagram of the main roads as well as a highlight of the desired final area that I wanted as the church final site and I also proposed some ways I could protect the site from sound pollution. Alongside this I’ve also created an annual wind analysis that led to the conclusion that wind mills could be used to power the entire site. Finally on the right side of the page, I’ve created two analysis of the surroundings which highlighted the main building types in the area and their function, as well as mark all the buildings in the area and the power lines route and other facilities.
