AN INTRODUCTION Simplicity is difficult. Even in pop music. You cannot fabricate a hit. At least not one with long term durability. It has to come from the heart to touch the heart. Morten Remar is a prime example. In the 80's his songs with Back To Back made it sound like he had in fact moved into P3, the national Danish radio channel. Nowadays they are enjoying an afterlife in a way that lead younger listeners to believe that Remar is in fact the person living inside Jonathan, the name of his biggest hit. In 1998 he released a cd that sounded like a hit, but alas never become one. "Everything's changing" he sang. So it did for him too. The beloved host on a national children channel became science journalist, and as such he performed as dedicated as when he is driving racingcars, his other passion. The cd you hold in your hands is his first solo-output since then. Eleven homegrown songs about the up and downs of life as most of us recognize it, oozing a charm not unlike the one that Paul McCartney executed on his solo debut. Having heard the songs you have to be rather blasĂŠ not to meet reality with more optimism and confidence, humming these tunes who are capable of doing what love does - create a chemical reaction.
