VISION
Currently, we live in a world whose information flux and modernization process are steadily increasing. As a result of these phenomena, we live in cities disconnected from the ecosystems that comprise our habitat. We recognize there is a lack of continuity between the natural environment and the human-made constructions. In this context, people appear disconnected from their own bodies and places. Ignoring the origin and transformations of the natural materials that uphold their daily lives. Moreoover, the diversity of our natural and cultural surroundings have not yet been integrated into the design processes, materialized in the interior and exterior spaces of our urban landscape. In face of this reality, we believe in the transforming power of combining nature and technology, tradition and innovation, elements historically perceived as being poles apart. We envision a world in which this union can position us in the awarness of the Here and Now as a unique moment that matters. It is only through this connection to the present and the exterior that we can relate to the past and future from within our inner space. Our starting point is a notion of art that bears no distinction between art, artisanship, architecture and nature, like pre-Hispanic cultures who understood art as tools for rituals for healing and connecting to nature and other worlds. Through our designs, people can approach raw materials and craft processes, and assimilate the external influence of the landscape into their everyday. We work with unique pieces offered by our natural surroundings to generate a continuity between architectural materiality and the organic experience of nature. Our pieces aim to integrate the inner space with the exterior, blurring the lines between natural and artificial; between man-made and nature-made; between urban and natural enviroment. We believe ultimatedly that our ordinary actions -our daily body experience in time and space- envelop and define our habitat. Therefore architecture and design can be regarded as the materialization of such daily acts of living.
