Our Company LiquiTech strives to provide innovative environmental solutions to the world. Essential to any of our endeavors is the focus we place on the health and safety of our customers and the global community. We supply only the best water safety solutions while maintaining our dedication to the environment. At our headquarters in Lombard, Illinois we manufacture and ship our copper silver ionization systems to some of the most prestigious healthcare, hospitality, commercial, industrial and government facilities around the globe. To date, we have over 1,200 installations in 15 different countries.

Effective. Safe. Environmentally Friendly.

Here at LiquiTech we do not believe in chemicals that yield moderate results with leftover harmful byproducts. In our opinion, chemical water treatments are not a solution but rather a compromise that trades one problem for another. Instead, we focus on providing water disinfection solutions that utilize copper/silver ionization to stop waterborne pathogens.

Partners In Action.

Building strong, long-term relationships is the only way to conduct business. At LiquiTech, we believe everyone is a partner or stakeholder to be considered in our strategies, actions, and offerings.

+ The Problem

Addressing Waterborne Pathogens: As of today ASHRAE, OSHA, The Joint Commission and the CDC are all addressing the control and prevention of waterborne pathogens, specifically Legionella. Research indicates that these pathogens can be controlled with proper water system design and preventative measures. Legionella

who have been hospitalized longer than one week. It is the frequent cause of HAIs such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and bacteremia. Infections caused by Pseudomonas are complicated and can be life threatening. A 2002 study concluded that 36-42% of healthcare associated Pseudomonas infections are possibly due to contaminated tap water. Additionally, it is the number one cause of intensive care related pneumonia and the number two cause of all hospital acquired pneumonias These infections are associated with an extremely high mortality rate, up to 68%.

Legionnaires disease is a severe and potentially fatal pneumonia caused by a type of bacteria called Legionella. Transmission of Legionella occurs by means of aerosolization or aspiration of water contaminated with Legionella organisms. Systems linked to the transmission of Legionella include potable water distribution systems (shower, faucets, ect.), cooling towers, humidifiers, respiratory therapy equipment, whirlpool spas, and evaporative condensers.

Addressing Hospital Acquired Infections:

Since 2001, the CDC surveillance reports have stated that Legionella has become the single most commonly reported pathogen associated with drinking water outbreaks in the United States. During the 2005-2006 CDC Surveillance period, 100% of the waterborne disease outbreaks associated with Legionella occurred as a result of Legionella colonization in plumbing and pipes and 80% of them occurred in a healthcare setting. Pseudomonas Pseudomonas is an opportunistic pathogen. This pathogen is naturally found in soil, water, plants and animals (including humans). It rarely causes disease in healthy persons. Pseudomonas is the most common pathogen isolated from patients

Evidence of the significant problem of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs), in terms of both lives and healthcare costs, continues to grow. Many hospital administrators believe they cannot afford to take the necessary steps to install a preventative system. The truth is, they can’t afford not to. HAIs dramatically erode hospital profits each year. Prevention strategies and technologies are saving hospitals millions of dollars and, more importantly, countless lives. Hospital water systems are often an overlooked source of HAIs. Waterborne pathogens such as Legionella, Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus, and other deadly bacteria infiltrate hospitals’ plumping and act as unsuspected delivery systems. The bacteria can enter, take root, and flourish quickly at any time without notice, until patients and/or employees start getting sick. This is just one of the many reasons why a LiquiTech® system is a key component in preventing HAIs.

Our Solutions LiquiTech is dedicated to providing the absolute best, most environmentally friendly methods for eradicating waterborne pathogens that enable you, the customer, to:

Be Proactive. Risk Assessment

Be Equipped. Our Liquidator® copper/silver ionization systems are the safest, most environmentally friendly way to protect any facility from life threatening waterborne pathogens. We provide custom, in-house fabrication of each and every one of our systems in order to provide our customers with a product designed with their facility’s needs and specifications in mind. Be Informed.

Clean, safe water is a cornerstone of quality service in any facility. An honest and comprehensive assessment of your water system will give you an accurate picture of how your facility is meeting this basic need and identify any risks for potentially dangerous situations, including bacterial outbreak. LiquiTech, a recognized leader in facility water consultation and analysis, can help give you peace of mind when it comes to your water system. Legionella Testing LiquiTech is a trusted leader in testing and treatment of Legionella and other bacteria in facility water systems. Legionella is a bacterium species that are the causative agent of the human Legionaires disease and the lesser form, Pontiac fever. Common sources include cooling towers, swimming pools, domestic hot-water systems, fountains, and similar disseminators that tap into a public water supply. Disease form Legionella tends to lead to harmful symptoms, and often times death, especially in those with a compromised immune system and the elderly. In the United States alone the disease affects between 8,000 and 18,000 individuals a year. Consequently, it should be actively checked for in any water system.

4

At LiquiTech, we are dedicated to staying on the cutting edge of environmentally friendly water safety solutions and we strive to extend this knowledge to our entire consumer base. As innovators in this industry we feel it is our duty to keep our customers and affiliates “in the know” regarding standards of care, best practices, and innovative ways to combat waterborne pathogens, all while reducing energy and costs.

Be Maintained. In recent years LiquiTech has gone far and above the industry standard by introducing our Maintenance, Monitoring and Service (MMS) program to make our systems a turn-key investment for any facility.

Company Profile 2011

+ Our System The Equipment. Our Liquidator® system consists of four main components: the control unit, flow cell, flow meter, and remote engineer management system (REMS). All LiquiTech® components are NSF certified.

1. Control Unit The LiquiTech® electronic control unit can be configured to control output current levels by multiple methods, which directly relates to the amount of ions released into the water. Such methods include current set points which will maintain the current according to its set point indefinitely, internal timer functions which can be programmed for every day of the week to operate only at specific intervals, remote contact input such as a flow switch, and analog inputs from sources such as a flow meter or a copper analyzer. Should any user-configured trip points occur or failures be detected, two independent 120 volt 10 amp alarm relays are provided for remote functions.

2. Flow Cell The flow-cells housing the copper/silver electrodes are comprised of high temperature, high pressure, schedule 80 CPVC. Electrode spacers are fabricated from DuPont PBT polyester resin. The flow-cells are supplied with LiquiTech® quick-connect stainless steel clamps for ease of installation. Flow-cells are available in various sizes and configurations depending upon the application. Standard 150-pound flanges with 304 stainless steel nuts, bolts and washers are also available. The entire LiquiTech® Electronic Disinfection System including Controller, FlowCell and interconnecting wire is ETL (UL-508 and 1081) certified. LiquiTech® products conform to the European Union EMC Directive 89/336/EEC and the Low Voltage Directive 72/23/EEC and bear the CE Mark.

3. Flow Meter The LiquiTech® computerized electronic control units are supplied with “closed-loop proportional control” which automatically produces precise levels of copper and silver ions proportional to flow rates (water consumption) measured by a flow meter. It is installed in the cold water make up to the heat source or the hot water supply to the facility, whichever is most practical. The copper analyzer is installed to sample copper levels in the hot water storage tank or recirculation system. The flow meters supplied are Blue-White Industries Sonic-Pro™ S3C Hybrid Ultrasonic flow meters. -5-

4. Remote Engineer Management System Our Liquidator速 systems are capable of remote supervisory control via internet access through a local network. These remote functions include real time display and alarms, system diagnostics, system configuration, remote data logging, and all control function adjustments.

The Process. As water passes through the flow cell, a direct current is applied across the electrodes to stimulate the controlled release of ions. The rate at which the ions are released is automatically maintained by a solid-state, microprocessor-based control unit that is both reliable and easy to operate. The ion emissions of the LiquiTech速 ionization process are cationic, surface-active and a potent biocide. The disinfection action is attributable to the positively charged copper and silver ions which form electrostatic bonds with negatively charged sites on microorganism cell walls. These electrostatic bonds create stresses that lead to distorted cell wall permeability, reducing the normal intake of life sustaining nutrients. This action, coupled with protein denaturation, leads to cell lysis and death. The accurate dose-rate control system maintains precise ion levels, providing residual protection and prevention of recontamination. It is this residual protection that makes the LiquiTech速 system superior to all other disinfection methods.

Certifications At LiquiTech we have taken great pride in developing the highest quality systems available. Therefore, LiquiTech has obtained CE, NSF, CSA, EPA and ETL/UL certification, registration or approval on all our systems. LiquiTech also complies with applicable codes and regulations. The entire LiquiTech速 Electronic Disinfection System including Control module, Flow Cell and interconnecting wire are ETL (UL-508 and 1081) certified and CSA C22.2 No. 14-95 and 108M89 certified. LiquiTech is registered as a pesticide producing device under EPA registration number 068250. LiquiTech products conform to the European Union EMC Directive 89/336/EEC and the Low Voltage Directive 72/23/EEC and bear the CE Mark.
