ABOUT COVERAGE Coverage Ltd. provides and operates a variety of services in Thailand and the wider ASEAN community. Andrew Durieux set up the company in 2004 after moving to Thailand from Melbourne, Australiawith an initial focus to distribute the successful ICS multi – lingual business management software into the Asian market following the purchase of DataPower by his company Infocomm Software (Australia).

Switzerland, China and Malaysia. Coverage assists clients to prepare and recover from all types of manmade and natural disasters. Projects have ranged from Floods, Political Protests, Pandemics, Terrorism to IT Failures.

The business expanded by offering assistance to companies with IT and Risk Management projects. This led Coverage to the eventual creation of the variety of services it now provides.

An active member of the Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce, Andrew served two years as President of the Chamber as well as Director of the Board of Trade of Thailand, and continues his volunteer advocacy work by representing the Joint Foreign Chambers of Economic Community Committee. In these areas he not only tries to help all foreign businessmen in Thailand, but also promotes Thailand and ASEAN as an investment opportunity for Australians and others.

As Coverage provided projects and consulting resources to assist clients with activities such as Sarbanes Oxley compliance and IT Project Management, the Outsourcing business evolved and is now one of the largest parts of the company.

This involvement has lead to the creation of new division of Coverage which we now operate as ASEAN Links. This is aimed to assist companies from Australia or elsewhere enter the ASEAN market with ease and simplicity.

The software, provided by Infocomm Software (Australia), continues to be sold and supported by Coverage within the division that is now known as Infocomm Thailand.

Coverage is now all about assisting others, whether customers, employees, colleagues or friends, to become more efficient and better prepared for future threats and opportunities while at the same time providing a sustainable operation, and taking advantage of opportunities by being innovative, flexible and quick to respond to client problems and challenges.

Andrew has also applied his personal field of expertise in Crisis Management and Business Continuity Planning, together with his team of trained consultants, to provide these services across a range of industries and clients over fourcontinents in countries as far afield as Senegal

CASE STUDIES EGAT Thailand - Electricity Generation and Distribution provider for Bangkok, Thailand. Coverage provided a complete IT DRP system for use within the EGAT IT department as part of a major software upgrade project.. The IT Departments operations are a critical component of the generation and distribution of Electricity for a significant portion of Thailand, and includes Bangkok, a city of 10 million people.

Meinhardt’s Thailand - Engineering Consultants, Thailand. Coverage provided a complete Generic BCP and management system within 2 months. This included Policy development, training of all senior managers, and conducting 2 table top exercises.

Mayne Nickless Express - Australian Transport and Logistics provider Andrew Durieux provided BCP development, Crisis Management training and development of specific plans for a number of high-risk possibilities. Staff and Management were trained, and used the BCP very successfully on 2 occasions. The use was so successful that the company won logistics contracts from some very large customers on the basis of this capability alone after one major disaster.

SCCC - Manufacturing and Sales of Cement and associated products Provided BCP training to a newly appointed BCP Coordinator. Assisted the BCP Co-ordinator develop company wide BCP incorporating risks assessments, contingency planning and crisis management training. Also provided Table Top Exercise to senior management as awareness exercise.

Siam Ocean World - Operator of Aquarium facility - Tourism and Entertainment Industry, Bangkok, Thailand Provided a generic BCP system and training for senior management. Provided Risk Assessment for reporting to International parent company. Provided detailed training and 2 table top exercises to all levels of management, and a BCP Policy. This project was complete rapidly, and was used effectively during the Red Shirt Protests during 2010 saving the company an estimated $5m.

Red Cross - International Aid and Disaster Management Society - Geneva Headquarters, West and Central Africa Zone Provided generic BCP systems, as well as detailed Human Influenza Pandemic Plan for the whole worldwide Red Cross organisation, and a specific plan for the West and Central African regional office incorporating 27 countries (which have the worlds worst affected countries in the areas of hunger, diseases such as HIV and Malaria, wars and natural disasters). This project was completed within 2 weeks including full BCP Policy and Plan documentation, 2 table top exercises and management training.

UN / WHO / ADPC - International Government Organizations Provide private sector expertise and consulting in the Swine, Avian and Human Pandemic Preparedness. This includes regularly attending meetings to provide input to such activities as Community Awareness and Preparedness across South East Asia, Government Planning Activities and systems used by groups such as Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Oxfam, Care and many others.


BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT Business Continuity Management is the system or process that companies can use to ensure they are prepared for any disasters, catastrophes or other bad events. To be fully prepared, this includes documenting of a plan (the BCP), and ensuring training and maintenance programs are in place for use of the plan. Coverage provides consulting services in a number of areas including Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) and Crisis Management. Our specialty is company wide Business Continuity Planning (BCP). Coverage has prepared plans for customers to date include Human Influenza Pandemics, Earthquakes, Floods, Terrorist Attacks, Fires and even IT DRP’s for SAP software systems. Coverage provides these services to a number of clients across multiple continents today. Our consultants have worked in Asia, Australia, Europe and even Africa providing BCP systems that have been used successfully for many disasters. We are also one of only a very small number of providers of these services in Thailand.

Andrew Durieux, our principle consultant has developed his own unique system and approach for training and implementing a BCP system. The approach has been developed based on Andrew years of experience and exposure to many disaster events. The general methodology is to first prepare clients for any major event that may occur, and then use the system to develop detailed plans to manage specific events. His system complies with various international standards such as BS25999 and AS/NZ4360:2004. Being based in Bangkok, Coverage can provide these services and any deliverables to Thai clients in the Thai language if required. In the event of an actual crisis event, Coverage consultants can be provided to assist client responses.

Andrew Durieux Andrew Durieux is the founder, director and principle consultant at Coverage Ltd. He is an Australian citizen and is also a previous president of the AustralianThai Chamber of Commerce and he is currently the chairman of the Joint Foreign Chamber of Commerce in Thailand AEC(ASEAN Economic Community) committee as well a member of the Board of Trade investment committee. Andrew has spoken about Thai opportunities to potential investors in Australia on behalf of the Board of Investment. He has also provided information and education on the opportunities and threats of the AEC to the business community in Thailand. For more than 15 years Andrew has focused on BCP, Crisis Management and Risk Management. He has provided these services on 4 Continents and for a wide variety of clients including Banking and Finance, Insurance, Logistics, Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Services and

others. His clients have ranged from small Thai operations to US Stock Market listed companies operating across many countries. Andrew has developed his own unique fully integrated approach for quickly training or implementing a program to minimize and prepare clients for any major event that may occur, and then using this system to develop detailed plans to manage specific events. His system complies with various international standards. Andrew is a qualified member of the Business Continuity Institute of the UK and is a regular consultant to the UN, WHO, International Federation of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies, ASEAN Ministries of Health, and the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre in the area of Human Pandemic Influenza, Floods, Terrorist attacks and Crisis Management in general.
