PRESIDENT'S LETTER

A Message from the President With the "season" behind us, I cannot help but look back on our Club’s many accomplishments over the past year. These range from our recovery from Hurricane Irma to your approval of an innovative and exciting facilities project that will move us forward and strengthen our future. The 2017-18 season was capped off by an incredible End of Season Party where Chef Ross served one of the most outstanding meals ever!

Particular thanks go to Don Hunter, General Manager/ COO, who established the initial contact with Florida Community Bank, and our Treasurer, Pete Kloet. Pete and John Friend, a retired banking executive and member of the Finance Committee, were instrumental in concluding our successful negotiations.

This letter will reiterate a number of the items communicated in the May 24 “Project Update” that touched on important issues affecting our Club.

Pre-Construction Activities Our construction schedule remains consistent with the time frame that has been communicated previously.

Financing Arrangements Completed On May 23, we concluded and signed the financing arrangements for the facilities project. Several financial institutions had expressed interest in our project. We selected Florida Community Bank (FCB), a publicly traded financial institution with $11 billion in assets, because it offered us the most attractive terms. We are pleased to enter this long-term partnership with FCB.

The final schematic of the facilities plan has been signed off by the Construction Committee. Our architect is now working on the final Design Documents that will allow the contractor to bid the work out to subcontractors and apply for permits.

Pursuant to the terms of the lending facilities, an interest-only loan that commenced immediately was secured for the construction period. The starting rate on the construction loan is 3.7%. The rate will vary over the construction period with the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR).

2

When construction is completed, the construction loan will convert to a term loan. The interest rate for the term loan is 5.09% and will remain fixed for the 15-year term of the loan. The principal of the loan amortizes over 30 years. The loan has terms and conditions, including covenants, that should not represent a compliance issue for the Club. The Board and Finance Committee both approved the financing facility with Florida Community Bank.

Demolition of the tennis and fitness buildings and construction preparation is expected to begin later this summer. See pages 4-6 for additional information on the status of project elements and moves to temporary facilities. The budget for the entire project remains $18.5 million for construction and related costs. Hurricane Insurance Update We have received insurance proceeds related to the golf courses (tree loss and debris removal) of $1.18 million. This slightly exceeds our actual course-related out-of-pocket costs. We have some additional hurricane-related course expenses that appear to be headed to arbitration. Our largest insurance claim relates to the buildings. Our insurance carrier is still reviewing the claim and we are awaiting their response. (Continued on next page)

QCCC FACILITIES PROJECT

Summertime … and Preparations are Underway! The slower pace of activity that marks summer in Naples is not in evidence at QCCC! Besides normal operations, preparations have begun for the start of project construction in the fall. PODS and dumpsters can be seen on campus, survey markings pepper the grounds and routine summer course maintenance is being augmented by actions to prepare for extension of the Driving Range. The biggest flurry of activity will soon be in full force as Fitness, Golf and Tennis/Bocce operations prepare for temporary moves in late August. Following is a snapshot of what’s happening.

Fitness, Wellness & Spa: Plans in Motion by Teri Brodie, Fitness Operations Manager The Fitness Staff is hard at work getting ready for our big move to the Golf Pro Shop in August. We have hired professionals to move our equipment and design the layout of our “home away from home.” The layout will be a very efficient use of the space and your workouts will not suffer. We will house our Pilates Studio in an airconditioned, private room at the back of the Cart Barn, and our classes will continue in the

Quail Room. We will have four massage rooms - two each in the Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms. Our goal is for the transition to be seamless for our Members. Jack Phillips (the Board Liaison for Fitness) and I have been working with our Golf and Tennis colleagues to start our marketing strategies for the new integrated sports and fitness center. We are working on our vision of the future and what we can do now to get the vision off the ground. There is so much excitement as each department prepares to become one new, bigger entity. We will truly be your team of expert coaches making you the best you can be!

Tennis & Bocce: Teamwork Off the Court by Jon Call, Director of Tennis This is such an exciting time to be part of Quail Creek! The Club’s department heads have been meeting almost every week to discuss our plans and ideas for future collaborations. We are sharing interesting ideas across the sports and fitness departments. All of us are looking forward to delivering our product in a state-of-the-art center while working seamlessly together. I am integrating principles I glean from both Golf and Fitness to enhance your tennis experience - especially with our lessons and clinics. I am convinced these new features will help to further differentiate QCCC from our competition. The Tennis Staff and I are working feverishly

to prepare for our move from the Sports Lounge to a modular trailer on the north side of Court 2 in August. This will keep us in close proximity to the courts. Two temporary bocce courts will be on the south side of court 2. Court 1 and the Stadium Court will both be screened off for construction staging. We have been paring down merchandise through our “Pre-Construction Blow Out Sale” and have not been replenishing any of our stock except for tennis balls and small accessories. Our goal is to continue the majority of our events, and use the Clubhouse for post-event refreshments or dining.

Golf: Driving Forward by Mike Dero, Director of Golf As we work vigilantly to downsize our Pro Shop inventory, we also are planning how to maximize our merchandise offerings, develop cross-training with the Fitness Staff, and make improvements to our golf programs.

custom club fittings and demo days. We plan to bring back the free Golf Pride Grip Day and lower our price on all grips we install.

The Golf Staff is giving golf lessons to the Fitness Staff to further their understanding of the muscles golf uses and the “mind frustrations” associated with the game. In return, we are learning what exercises and stretches would best support the physical movements associated with golf.

We are currently working on a new yardage book for both courses and getting a shelter back on the Driving Range for rainy or extrahot practice times.

We are scheduling trunk shows with top vendors, especially during Member/Guest days, so that the winners have a great gift selection. Also in the works are plans for more

In August, the Golf Pro Shop will move operations to a modular trailer to be located on the side of the Cart Barn adjacent to the Creek No. 1 putting green. To thank Members for their patience, we will offer lower pricing on all items - balls, clubs and clothing - during the construction period.

QUAIL PRIDE

The Spirit of Giving The spirit of giving is alive and well at Quail Creek Country Club. From golf association charities to the Hurricane Irma Employee Recovery Fund to end-of-season food donations to the Harry Chapin Food Bank, QCCC Members strive to make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate. On these pages, we are featuring several Clubsponsored activities that are having an impact in the Naples community. We also would like to recognize the many Members and Staff

who donate their time, talents and financial resources to organizations and causes that have special meaning for them personally. “Quail PRIDE is not limited to how we care for our golf courses,” says General Manager/ COO Don Hunter. “Quail PRIDE extends to every aspect of our Club – amenities, services, facilities and Member involvement. Philanthropy is a terrific example of how PRIDE encompasses everything we do every day.”

Knitting for Preemies In January, Helen Eastaugh, the organizer of the QCCC Knitting Club, learned of a campaign called “Little Hats, Big Hearts”. Initiated by The Children’s Heart Foundation, the effort aimed to provide every child born prematurely in February (American Heart Month) with a red knitted preemie cap to help regulate the infant’s body temperature. Around the same time, a good friend of Helen’s welcomed a preemie grandson to her family. “My friend began knitting Members of the QCCC Knitting Club with some of the preemie caps for him -- and other preemies preemie hats they created: Front, from left: Linda Serotta as well -- while she watched and waited for and Helen Eastaugh; Back, from left: Lenora Mountain, her grandson to gain strength and grow,” Joan Betts, Nikki Yanarella and Nardena Sullivan. Not says Helen. He happened to be the first pictured: Merry DiBerardino and Andrea McCaffrey. baby to arrive in the new NICU at Naples’ Golisano Children’s Hospital and stayed there for the first 98 days of his life. “I was so moved by this family that I picked up my needles and joined the cause,” Helen says. Through word of mouth, the original group of QCCC knitters was joined by others. “Not everyone was equally experienced in knitting, crocheting or reading pattern -- but it was amazing how everybody helped each other through the tough rows. The great thing about the caps is they are mostly quick knits and easy beginner patterns,” Helen explains.

10

The end result? Over 160 caps for preemies in a range of sizes, colors and patterns were delivered to Golisano Children’s Hospital in April. Helen reports that the hospital’s director of volunteering was “amazed and grateful” for the contributions of the QCCC knitters – what she calls a “labor of love”.

Niners Tee Off for Good Causes “Take a Mulligan” is a common golf phrase for a “do over.” The Lady Niners Golf Association is doing it over and over again to help those in need. For the last few years, proceeds from the sale of Mulligans at special events have benefitted the local Shelter for Abused Women and Children. This past season, the Niners raised $1,335. Members of the Lady Niners also donated $1,365 in gift cards to Angela's Angels, an organization for which Firefighters Local 2297 purchases holiday gifts for teenagers in need.

Gail Swor (center left) presents a check for $1,335 to Linda Oberhaus, executive director of The Shelter for Abused Women and Children.

“The Lady Niners are a very caring group of women, not only for each other but also for women and children in the Collier County community,” says Gail Swor, 2018-19 president.

Soup’s On for Guadalupe Center

QCCC Buddies Up for Bosom Buddies

Th e Wo m e n ’s G o l f Association’s (WGA) fall charity was the Guadalupe Center’s soup kitchen in Immokalee, the daily source of meals for hundreds of people who often don’t get another meal that day.

Several Club groups – the Women’s Golf Association and our tennis and bocce players – worked together to donate nearly $19,000 to Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Inc. Bosom Buddies’ donations stay in Collier and Lee Counties and aid women and men who cannot afford the cost of cancer treatments.

“Souper Soup for Guadeloupe” was the theme of the WGA event, suggested by Janet Rocco who co-chaired with Anne Jaeger. Over $12,000 was raised through cash, checks and chitting. Dozens of cans of soup also were donated by WGA members.

WGA raised $13,650 and the tennis and bocce communities raised $5,200. Donated gift baskets were the subject of silent auctions that included gift certificates from the Golf and Tennis Pro Shops and Fitness, Wellness & Spa. Signs recognizing the event sponsors, which included the Men’s Golf Association, were placed on various holes and along the pathways at the tennis courts. “It is very important for the women and men of Quail Creek Country Club to give to the surrounding communities to feel a sense of belonging and to help those less fortunate than ourselves,” says WGA 2017-18 president Pat McKay.
