COACHING STAFF Puma Soccer

Freddy Delgado, Sr.

HEAD COACH

Freddy Delgado, Sr. comes to PVCC for the 2014 season with a wealth of experience ranging from the youth, high school, adult and college levels. Delgado most recently served as part of Notre Dame Prepatory High School’s staff while mainly overseeing the boy’s junior varsity program. From 2010-2013, Delgado was the women’s assistant coach for Arizona Christian University. While at ACU, his main duties included team training, recruiting and game day management. Freddy has strong ties within the Phoenix soccer community, coaching in the Valley for over 36 years with various clubs including Santos, CCV, Cisco and currently as a staff coach for the Blackhawks Soccer Club. Delgado is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He attained their highest coaching license, the Premier Badge, in 2013. He also holds the NSCAA Goalkeeping Diploma, USSF “D” License, NAIA Champions of Character Diploma and the NFHS Fundamental f Coaching Diploma. A native of Arizona, Freddy Delgado, Sr. retired after 32 years at Century Link and is currently living his passion as a full time soccer coach. He is married to Sandy, his wife for over 40 years and they have three children (Freddy, Richard and Jennifer) and four grandchildren.


Michael D’Arrigo

ASSISTANT COACH

Michael D’Arrigo grew up in Tucson, AZ, before heading off to the University of San Diego to play soccer. While attending USD, he appeared in 57 matches, made it to the NCAA Elite 8, and finished his career there with a variety of school Top-10 records in assorted categories. He studied Business and earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. His soccer career as a player includes: National Champion Real Salt Lake, NCAA Division 1 and FC Tucson. He is currently a professional player for Arizona United SC. D’Arrigo is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and has obtained his USSF “E” License.

Roberto Garcia

ASSISTANT COACH

Roberto Garcia joins the Puma men’s soccer program as an assistant coach for the 2014 season. He is a licensed state soccer official and has been a part of the soccer community in Arizona for decades. Garcia attended Skagit Valley College in Mt. Vernon, WA where he was a forward and left/right wing. Garcia has coached for both the Paradise Valley Soccer Club (ages 10-17) and the Sereno Soccer Club (youth). He is a licensed USSF assigner and has officiated at the College, University and 2 & 3 Division professional levels.
