Le château de Tanlay The historic castle of Tanlay is one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture in Burgundy. Home of the family of The Admiral of Coligny during religious wars, it was completed by Michel Particelli d'Hemery, the financial superintendent of Mazarin, and in the late seventeenth century, it became the property of the Marquis of Tanlay. The castle, which is still inhabited, has remained with the same family since then. Famous for its trompe l'oeil (optical illusion) gallery and the frescoes of the Ligue tower, Château de TANLAY offers an indoor guided tour, rich in furniture and wall decorations. The external visit allows you to discover the communes of the castle, its moat, the nymphaeum, its canal, and its remarkable park.

This castle knows no equivalent in France, if not in the world. It has several features that make it extremely unique.
