hile Chesapeake Bay weather isn’t allowing us to start pulling out the boat too soon, it’s clear that clubs around the Bay are pulling out their calendars and getting started on planning the 2014 season. There are raft ups, rendezvous, and even brunch options in the follow-

Love is in the Air

he Nanticoke River YC celebrated Valentine’s Day with a dinner dance with special guests Jean and Allan Johnson, Sr., who have been married for 64 years. Dr. Ton and Renee Benz, who have been club members for the last 12 years, will be relocating to Alabama, and so the club hosted a farewell dinner in their honor. Family members, friends, co-workers, and other members remembered the Halloween parties, friendship, and caring these two people added to the club and the community. They will be missed.

The NRYC lost a longtime member earlier this year, when Don Ewing of Seaford, DE, died on February 16. Donald was a Navy pilot in World War II, a NRYC member, a Seaford Historical Society volunteer, and a Nanticoke Memorial Hospital volunteer. He was 91. Commodore Bev Blades wants to let everyone who enjoys the Nanticoke River know that the railroad bridge will be open as of March 15, and the marina is ready to welcome visitors.
