Welcome to the historic Brygga restaurant, built on stilts in the sea. Surrounded by fisherman cabins, mountains, exciting museums like The Fishing Village Museum and The Stockfish museum and of course the sea, we offer a unique and authentic setting for lunch and dinners. The Flakstad Church
Lofoten has a strong cultural heritage through its Christian community, which is reflected in its many churches. The current church in Flakstad was built in 1780 and is built on a site where several churches stood before it. The timber is Russian as a result of the pomor trade, and the building itself is inspired by the russian churches and their architectonic style in the 18th century. Flakstad and its parish is named as early as the middle ages, through the testament of Arvid Ingelsøn which was issued in 1430.The church is well-used by its parish today and we are proud to show you our living and proud history!

The Smithy in Sund and Sund museum of fisheries
In the small fishing village of Sund is where you will find a unique and alive museum. It all works as an installation depicting the history of boat motors and fishing equipment. The smith in Sund offers an unique prod-uct. He invites you in to his working en-vironment with warm humour and wits, whilst creating extraordinary art with his tools. His main productions are the king-cormorants, which can also be bought from the gift shop. Welcome to a unique and educational experience!

The Glass Hut at Vikten
Where the North Sea carves its shores into beautiful sculptures is the place where you find the artists of the Tangrand family. The glass is produced at the Glass Hut. Here you will witness the glassblower at work. A lump of matte material is turned into beautiful, glossy products, with warm sparkles – it’s almost magic! The Glass Hut offers you the benefit of an outstanding view towards the beach and the ocean.In a harmonious coexistence with the Glass Hut you will find the Pottery Tower. This is where Åse Tangrand juggles with clay and creates beautiful, yet practical tools – almost too nice for the kitchen! The Pottery Tower leads you up to the fa-cility’s coffee shop.Vikten has more to offer than artists and architectonic statements. Just a step away from the buildings, you can enjoy the unique nature. Skaftnes Fisherman`s farm
Beautifully located by the fjord, with tall, green mountains in the back – this is Lofoten. The traditional farm reflects the history of the most typical Lofoten inhabitant; the “fisherman farmer”. Visit the main house, barn, boathouse and wharf. Authentic and interesting interior. The boas house has a collection of typical wooden boats of the region. Fygle Museum
The museum consists of the old school (1898), the shed (1950), Rorbu (fisherman cabin) (1834) - probably one of the old-est rorbuer on the Lofoten island. The old school has a relatively complete interior from a class room, along with displays in the other rooms. Themes are to shoe-making, textiles, archeological finds from stone age, iron age and medieval ages, and a dentist´s office. Objects from the fisk-erbonden - “the fisherman farmer” - have been given ample space in the displays. Pleasant outdoor surrounding. Guided tours/introduction. Open on request.

Lofotr Viking Museum
Travel more than 1000 years back in time Lofoten has a strong Viking heritage. The largest Viking longhouse found in the world of the Vikings stood at Borg in Lofoten. From here, one of Northern Norways mightiest men ruled. Today you may experience the Viking age history through visiting the reconstructed, full size 83 meter longhouse. Upon entering you feel the smell of tar and smoke, see beautiful ornaments and decorations and experience craftswork and architecture. Hov Gård is situated in beautiful surroundings at Hov on the island of Gimsøy, between a wonderful arctic white beach with view on the ocean and the mountain Hoven, on the north side of the Lofoten Islands. Galleri Lofotens Hus - Northern Norway`s new national gallery
In Henningsvær, you will be able to visit Galleri Lofotens Hus - often referred to as the national gallery of Northern Norway. The Gallery houses Norway's biggest collection of paintings from Lofoten from a time period referred to as the Golden Age of North Norwegian pictorial art. See Frank A. Jenssen's Video Panorama, which by many has been called a masterpiece in itself. The video consists of the sounds of nature, music and photographs from Lofoten throughout the seasons. New exhibition: Cod - the fish that formed the nation of Norway. The exhibition is
based on the book by Frank A. Jenssen (2012) bearing the same title. Here, Jenssen maintains that without the cod, Norway would not have had the power and resources to establish a nation. The number of visitors has
