ABOUT YLP The energy and creative ideas of youth - when given a voice and a safe place to express them - are truly incredible. Youth Leaders for the Pachamama (YLP) is part of a bold new initiative that seeks to accelerate change by building a movement of inspired leaders. In a 3-day youth congress (based on the multi-award winning a n n u a l Yo u t h L e a d i n g t h e Wo r l d international congress), YLP works with young people to empower them to become leaders and change-makers within their own communities.

WHO ATTENDS? YLP is targeted towards young people between 15 and 25 years of age primarily from rural and disadvantaged communities. In Guatemala and El Salvador more than 50% of the population are under 18 years of age and receive little or no support to become critical and creative thinkers and leaders. In order to create longterm sustainable change, we must work with this generation to help them understand and build capacity to face the challenges that lie ahead.
The key outcomes of the congress are INSPIRED young leaders who are: INFORMED about climate change and global challenges INNOVATING creative change ideas ENGAGING in inspired action CONNECTED with a local, regional and international movement of change-makers
Participants in YLP receive environmental education, networking and leadership development opportunities. The outcomes are young leaders with a high level of personal confidence who are actively in creating change in their communities. Participation also provides youth with greater opportunities outside of the community, opening doors that will change their lives forever.

$100 will support one facilitator
$1,500 w i l l s u p p o r t o rg a n i z a t i o n , facilitation and follow-up of one congress
$6,000 will sponsor the training and salary of a local facilitator for one year
