GuadelÎżupe is an archipelagos in the Carribean sea, east of Central America, where the northeastern Carribean sea meets the Atlantic Ocean.


It has a total area of 1.780 square kilometres and population of 448.713 people. It is a part of France, so it is a member of the European Union.


Guadelοupe consists of seven islands: two main islands, Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre, and five more, Les Saintes, La Désirade, Marie-Galante, Saint Martin and Saint-Barthélemy.

The capital of Guadelοupe is Basse – Terre and the official language is french.


Guadelοupe mainly exports bananas.The best place to see its stages of production is the GRAND CAFÉ plantation.


In GuadelÎżupe they also cultivate and export sugarcanes,rum,eggplants,cocoa,melons, guinnep, noni, sapotilla, paroka, pikinga.


The climate is tropical,with long periods of drought,but also with high humidity,rain and hurricanes.


La Soufrière is an active volcano on the island of Guadelοupe,and also the highest peak of Small Antilles,with an altitude of 1.467 metres.


The culture of GuadelÎżupe is very rich. There are wellknown Nobel-winner writers, folk musicians of Zouk, famous cooks and artists of every kind,who usually create unique pieces in their ateliers.


In GuadelÎżupe you can play golf, tennis, go cycling and hiking, do water-skiing, go surfing or diving.


Music and dancing are also very popular and are influenced from Africa, India and France. The locals enjoy dancing biguine, zouk, kompa toumbĂŠlĂŠ, and modern dances from all around the world.

Its cuisine combines the elegance of french taste,scents from India,and the power and richness of the african products of the Carribean. People eat a lot of fish and seafood,tropical fruit and vegetables.


Creole costumes are basic clothes, probably inspired by church. Lace, accessories and hats make up women’s traditional costumes.
