Denmark’s total area is 43.094 km².

It is a Scandinavian country in north Europe. It shares its land borders with Germany,and its sea borders with Sweden,the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.

The Kingdom of Denmark is a constitutional monarchy. It has a population of 5,5 million people. The danish currency is the Danish krone (DKK). The official language is danish,but greenlandic, german and faroese are spoken too. The colours of the danish flag are red and white.


THE DANISH CAPITAL: COPENHAGEN It is situated on the eastern part of the country.Its biggest part is built on Zealand island,while a smaller part is on Amager island.


The pest period to visit Copenhagen,its canals and its countryside is the summer.

Danish Vikings were famous for their fearless attacks,but for their craftsmanship and trade as well. We have found well preserved ships and houses of theirs.In Vikingship Museum Roskilde we can make an actual journey on a rebuilt ship that was found in a part of Roskilde fjord.

FOOD AND DRINKS‌ Hash: it is a mix of boiled beef,usually corned beef or roast beef,and onions,potatoes, spice, served with large pasta and cooked again.

Black pudding:a kind of sausage. They are made by cooking blood or dried blood with a filler until it is thick enough to congeal when cooled. It is also called blood sausage.


Øllebrød: is a traditional Danish dish - a type of porridge made of rugbrød scraps and beer. A dish that makes it possible to use the rest of the bread scraps so that nothing is wasted. The idea originated from monastic living, when monks would dip their bread into hot beer.

Millionbøf: is a Danish beef dish that is commonly served with potatoes (perhaps mashed), pasta and rice. The name (translating literally to “million steak”) comes from the fact that the meat is cut up into many small pieces when fried.


Risengrød:rice boiled with milk and served with butter, sugar and cinnamon or dark fruit juice at the Christmas table and during the winter months.

BrĂŚndende kĂŚrlighed: (English: Burning love) is traditional Danish dish[1] of mashed potatoes, butter, and whole milk or cream. It is topped with bacon cubes that have been fried along with some sliced onions. The mashed potatoes may also be topped with parsley,leek, or finely chopped nutmeg.The dish is often served on Valentine's Day.
