POWERING UP
INSTALLATION The INTERCEPTOR™ Security System requires constant power and ground to operate properly and needs to be placed in a covert location. Install as far away from the Battery as possible since that is the first place a thief looks. The RED wire will need to be connected to a constant 12v+ power source. The BLACK wire will need to be connected to a solid ground. It is recommended to go direct to the Battery with both Hot & Ground when possible. The BLUE wire is not necessary for Normal Installation, curl and Insulate. PLACEMENT When positioning the INTERCEPTOR™ Security System, the device will need to be positioned in a way that ensures the ends will have no metal obstruction. Device is dust & water resistant; you should make every effort to place in high & dry location. The device’s internal antennas will be able to get signal through plastic, glass, and the like, but metal objects can interfere. Place the GPS Antenna end of the unit vertically for Optimal Performance whenever possible (see picture).
Once the unit has had the power connected, wait at least 10-minutes for the GPS lock. Shake the INTERCEPTOR™ unit back and forth a half a dozen times to wake it up. The unit needs to rebuild its internal GPS Almanac which may take several attempts before a GPS location is returned. Follow the TEXT confirmation instructions; if you do not receive TEXT notification of a GPS lock, reposition the INTERCEPTOR™ unit and try again. SECURING THE INTERCEPTOR™ GPS Once the optimal position is found, secure the INTERCEPTOR™ unit using the mounting points on the INTERCEPTOR™ chassis. Take care not to torque it down to tight.
