company, manufactures, and delivers the equipment needed for most oil and gas projects. With API 6A and 16A licenses, plus ISO and Q1 certifications, the quality of the products is also guaranteed. ASAP also offers design assistance to provide innovative solutions that its customers need.
And the company is expanding its machinery stock, too.
“We recently invested in several 700 CNC machines,” said Mr. McIntyre. “We purchased five arc welding machines and added new trucks to our transportation and logistics department. We also added two horizontal boring machines, as well as gate valve tooling, and an additional portable stress relieving oven. So, we are very well equipped.”
Sophisticated skills
As a company always keen to expand its capabilities, ASAP is embracing the possibilities of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD), a drilling process used to precisely control the annular pressure profile throughout the wellbore. “We are extremely excited about that,” Mr. McIntrye added.
In response to the significant recent growth of the sector, ASAP has also been manufacturing suspended riser cylinders for several new ongoing deep water
projects. The company began receiving orders last summer and started delivering towards the end of 2023.
As well as being ISO9001 registered, ASAP offers supplier evaluations and product verification along with testing, special process approval, and dimensional verification.
“So, before we machine anything, basically as soon as we receive it, we inspect the material to check a few different things,” explained Mr. McIntrye. “We verify the hardness is right with Brinell or Rockwell Hardness Testing, we put it through a QC inspection. We verify pressure containing welds through hydrostatic testing.
“We have manufactured several large bore monoline frac systems, in addition to some of the most efficient sand separators in the industry. We have been doing it for a couple of years, but we picked up some new customers last year because of our efficiency.”
