Print. is an online piece of ART. We are here to embrace culture, lifestyles, food, friends, fun, music, fashion, and fucking anything else we want to. We don’t ask premission, we do. We don’t support the strong, we support the weak. PRINT. is a movement for the people, by the people, with the people.

Some language, photos, items in this publication is not suitable for children under the age of 13 years old. Please be advised.

This is the first of many issues. I can’t believe that this has started. This has always been a dream of mine to start a magazine, a magazine where anyone has a voice. Even though this first issue might feel out not structured, or even put together crazy, I think it’s just fine. I think it’s fine because we’re just learning who we are and what we like, probably like you. That’s why PRINT is cool, we’re evolving everyday. Print isn’t something that you just flip through. It’s something you can learn something from. It doesn’t matter if we blow up, it matters if we help stand up for what counts. In this first issue you’ll meet a group of friends hosting the best dance parties around, a pretty girl with a Vader face, an grafitti artist ready to show his stuff, a clothing line fit for a pin-up, art, music and fun!

Now go out and use your voice! -T E M P U S

Teach me...

How to Dougie! Teach Me How To Dougie is a song that came out in October 2010 by the hip hop group “Cali Sawg District “an American hip hop group from Inglewood, California,[2] founded by former Death Row artist Big Wy and Dairold Potts”.”Teach Me How to Dougie” brought the Dougie dance to the forefront similar to the way New Boyz’ hit “You’re a Jerk” did in 2009, bringing jerkin’ to the mainstream. The dance itself is considered by critics to be a simpler branchoff movement of jerkin’. However Smoove stated that they have a more “street aspect”, and while shouting out New Boyz, who appear in the song’s video, didn’t consider themselves associated with the jerk movement. The “Dougie” involves “casual shoulder leans and elbow twists”, compared to snap dancing.” I think everyone and their MOMs know how to DOUGIE. It’s not hard, it’s more in the shouldars and then you swag with it. Even if you don’t know what I’m talking about the video will help you out. Thanks WIKIPEDIA, because 1

Our favorite Cyber Goth GRAVER DJ Synthcide tells us all about the INDUSTRIAL scene, music, and the cool Goth clubs We love DJ Synthcide, and after this interview you’ll know why. She’s as bubble as she is tall and loves to DJ and part. Don’t let the black fool you, she’s not just a Industrial lover, she’s a raver, model, mom, promoter, and manager. With being all that we were surprised when she agreed to do this interview. Between changing diapers and finding the next big underground track, Dj Synthcide lays down the GOTH LAW! P: Any gigs coming up locally and not local? Local is always Fallout and dancing Spinning Philly in Nov 27 for I Industrial and the band Tactical Sekt their first show on the east coast P: Sweet, and speaking of local stuff, How would you say the Industrial Goth movement is in our area (Hampton Roads)? It seems to be dying here to me which is sad people dont seem as much into music, supporting bands, and going out to shows as they use to be P: Yeah, I think there a lot of creativity here , but just no outlet either. xVery true P: Can you tell us of any cool underground places we should check out? Fallout for sure in RVA an awesome club I’m hoping to be working on a possible night soon like a club night

P: What are you listening to now? The new combichrist’s album Making Monsters Really good stuff P: For someone who wants to get into Industrial what do you recommend? Well for startes start off with old school Skinny Puppy, Wumpscut If you like heavier and harder music Suicide Commando, Combichrist, Tactical Sekt, Grendel very dancey and aggressive music. Zeromancer is a really good band too P: What labels are you wearing? Lip Service, and Hip Maybelline I believe Awesome makeup Lip Service clothes are amazing and comfortable P: You just had twins! Congrats! How are they, and how do you keep up such a busy life with two kids? Yes they are great now growing up sooo much a year and 2 months P: Wow! They love who I am, and my family helps support me and them! They love Industrial too P: Is there anything that you want people to know about the underground industrial scene? I think the main thing is to help support your local, underground, and international bands! Go to their gigs, buy merch and actually go out and buy the cds! Stop downloading so much! xDDD That’s what’s killing the music scenes now It is, but as long as you support them and there music and go to shows then that’s another thing ^-^ P: Your right, but its just so easy you know.. but we totally wanna support so.. BUY CDS!! P: Thanks DJ, your definately the ISH, and we hope we hear more from you!! Thank you so much! And hope you have an awesome halloween Interview taken over FB 10-31

Let’s get this party started right! When you think about partying, what pops up? Food, music, dancing, friends, and -fun? This is exactly what Loose Lips gives you. They bring you in and by the end of the night, they are spitting you out in a blaze of sweaty, drunkness and glory. Loose Lips is a collaboration of DJs, lighting, marketing, and promotors who make these nonstop dance parties happen. Getting up with these boys are hard! They are hard at work with upcoming parties, side-

gigs, and top secret projects. Just finishing up their Halloween dance party, Loose Lips isn’t slowing down yet. Print has gotten the exclusive interview with a member of the dream team to find out more about these bad ass dudes and all about LOOSE LIPS.

Now please give it up for Joshua Newtown aka LORDAMERCY, the premiere DJ behind Loose Lips.

LORDAMERCY doesn’t have just the sickest DJ name ever (ever..!) but he was way down with letting us interview him. Coming from a Bboy background, he took what he loved and ran with it. Now, he’s one of Loose Lip’s premiere DJs. P: What is your DJ name and where did it come from? My DJ name is LORDAMERCY AKA LRDMRCY. It basically came from my hip hop days back in the 90s. Me and my homies would crowd around in my room and listen to records. We were listening to a dancehall record, bounty killer or something, and I kept scratching the Lordamercy line. My homie’s Markie B and Disko Dave just kinda branded it on me and it stuck ever since. Q. What inspired you to become a DJ? It all started from hip hop. When I was younger I was real into graffiti, and break dancing, and through that I met a lot of DJs. I can pretty much narrow it down to Disko Dave. When I met that dude, he was killing it. He’s a natural and he was so far ahead of the curve. After that I started venturing into other types of music and I met Bryan Zentz. He was one of the first people that introduced me to electronic music. I guess you could say thats what started the spark and made me want to do what I’m doing today. I try to take a little from each side and make it something good P: Tell us who is involved in Loose Lips? There’s a solid team behind Loose Lips, and everyone brings something to the table. The Resident WEOK DJ’s are myself (LRDMRCY) and Oh!Boy. Charlie Restless (restless bodies) is our promotional mastermind, Javy from LeDMX controls the massive light/

lazer game. And I’m also responsible for all the artwork/design/video production.

P: Have you gotten any good feedback? Any haters? We’ve gotten a lot of feedback, positive and negative. I think most of the people that come to our parties have a good time and know what to expect. Those are the people that we are thankful to have the support of. We really do this for people to have fun so it is a bumout that some people leave unhappy. But you know at the end of the day, we can’t please everyone, but we’ll try. P: What else is in store for Loose Lips? Well its only gonna get bigger from here. We are working on bringing in more big names, and trying to get more people around here excited for electronic music. This stuff is popping off in every city around the country and its just now catching on here, so we’ll continue to push it as far as we can. Oh!Boy and I are working with Noah Larmz for Fantastic Planet New Years Eve at the Norva so make sure you don’t miss out on that. P: Is there anything you want people to know about Loose Lips? Loose Lips doesn’t exist without our supporters. Its awesome that its gotten as big as it has, and we just want everyone to know that this belongs to them as much as it does to us. Expect to see some really big name DJ’s, and really fun parties in the very near future.

The Ultimate Revenge

By: Alicia Pike

I was once in love with a guy who was my good friend in college. He was average in every way. Not overly handsome, not thin, not fat. He just...was. But his personality is what got me. He was everything I had wanted in a guy. He was smart, funny and creative. He lived alone. He had a cat that he loved. His musical tastes were the exact same as mine as were his film tastes. He was reluctant to join society just as much as I was. I thought of our future and felt confident that we would not regret joining forces and living our lives separately together. I was pretty sure he felt the same way. Then I told him. And I was very wrong. It was the first time I had ever told anyone I was in love with them. And the rejection was horrible. I felt stupid. I had dressed up in the prettiest black dress I could find. A kimono looking thing that hit just above the knee. I had on heels. I had auburn hair that was waved. I went the vintage route and I felt beautiful. Until he said no. It was the look he gave me. Like I was hideous and how dare I even think for a second that I deserved someone like him. I never forgot it. The embarrassment while not as bad, still haunts me from time to time. “You are not someone I would EVER be with” he said. “I mean it. NO WAY. I like crazy girls. And you are not a crazy girl.” He continued. “We’ll see about that.” I thought as I contemplated jumping off his balcony and making a break for it. Except I left my purse and keys in his house and so that idea was out. I wasn’t in the mood to walk home that night. We stayed friends. Thus began my plot to sabotage him. Or more so sabotage myself in order to make him feel guilty to the point of inducing tears (he wasn’t a crier). I visualized situations in which the grief would overwhelm him because I was dying and he never got to say he loved me. He would rush to my hospital bed as I was drawing my last gasp of air through the tube they stuck in my neck after an awful car accident or boating accident rendered me unable to breathe on my own. I was merely a shell of myself after the weeks in a coma had whittled me away to virtually nothing. “Oh God, WHAT HAVE I DONE?” He would scream, his fist thrown to the air as he cursed himself for allowing me out on that golf course in which an errant golf ball hit the wind mill and caused it to fall on my body, crushing my wind pipe and a few major organs. Oh, I would have the last laugh alright.

My fantasies were deluded even further by my increasing intake of prescription drugs in which I would lie on the ground outside for hours thinking of ways to endanger myself in order to make him pay for the rest of his life. “Oh man, you are gonna get what’s coming to you.” I would think after a particularly satisfying fantasy of my best friend calling him late one night. “She doesn’t have much time.” he would say. “I just thought you might want to say your goodbyes.” And he would come flying to the hospital only to find that I was unable to talk due to all of the tubes in my body. But my eyes, they would say everything and he would somehow know. “I’ve forgiven you.” My eyes would say as I listened to him cry and hold my hand. “I’m going to heaven now. I’ll be much happier. I’ll feel no pain. You will live a good life. Don’t forget me. We could have had such a wonderful life together but alas, it was not meant to be.” My eyes would have a lot to say. He would understand all of this as he held onto my hand like it might save me. As I slipped away and died.

I have done this with every single guy I have ever liked or dated with the exception of one. In one way or another, I would feel neglected and in turn, concoct my revenge. While none of my fantasies ever came true, it took me years to realize that every fantasy I had involved me dying. Somehow, that was the ultimate revenge. To not have me in their lives. Even just thinking it would bring me to tears. But it was that particular person that made me realize that I was, in fact maybe a little neurotic. That perhaps an oxycotin bender wasn’t really the way to go about getting revenge. I used to think that he made me that way. That it was his fault I was doing all the drugs and in turn spiraling into a pit of depression. “Oh man, look what you’ve done by saying you don’t love me. You’ve turned me into a failure at life because of my inability to be loved.” I guess it all came down to assuming that people feel as guilty as I do when I hurt someone through my actions. Truth be told, I really don’t think most people care as much as I do about how much people accept them and in turn, probably don’t think of the consequences of their actions nearly as much as I do. At my worst, I stopped speaking to everyone for months, including him. And it was then that I realized he didn’t care and wouldn’t care nearly as much as I did seeing how he called me maybe once the entire time I wasn’t talking to anyone.

Once I fell out of love with him and fell in love with my fiance Joey, I began to see things slightly differently. I no longer had that fantasy of hurting people the way they were hurting me. I can’t even go a few hours without talking to Joey after a fight before I start to feel bad because I know it’s truly hurting him. I couldn’t imagine taking my own life because I already have the answer to how he would react. It would devastate him. I don’t need to hurt myself to get him to realize he’s in love with me. What once seemed like the ultimate revenge to me now just seems selfish and wrong and not just for the person I was aiming it at but for myself as well. Not to mention pitiful. I guess at one point or another, everyone craves affection and I had wanted it, only from all of the wrong people. Maybe I’ve grown up a little but now my fantasies tend to involve the horrible accident of the person I’m upset with. While that’s still not a great idea, at least I’m taking steps towards improvement. Now, I’m not the one in the hospital bed, stuck in a coma due to a putt putt golfing accident.

P: You do so many things: make up artist, designer, model, photographer. What do you enjoy the most? D: I enjoy everything I do in different ways. Ive been doing more modeling recently being in front of the camera gives me the opportunity to be who ever I want to be! Anyone who knows me knows that am super quite and shy but when I get in front of a camera that girl disappears. P: What materials are you making them out of? D: Tape! : )

Deanna Marie is the BEAUTY and brains behind ADHESIVE FASHION. SHE TELLS US THE BUSINESS ABOUT...HER BUSINESS!

P: How did you come up with the concept for your line?

P: What are some of your inspirations for the line? D: I take inspiration from every where. I have two sketches that were inspired by the movie Beetle Juice. The Lydia dress design was worn by Jizmak of Gwar’s wife! P: Your also a photographer. How did you get into photography? D: I always had a passion for photography and went to college. P: I feel your look is like a gothic pin-up feel. Where do you see the line swaying more to?

D: Honestly my look is always evolving. I started out with pinup and moved on to alternative/latex. In the future I will be modeling more extravagant outfit along with bright colored wigs.

D: Funny enough High School Prom! They had a duck tape competition where couples got to design their own outfits. I’ve always sketched dresses ever since I was in school but was never P: Where can we find you and your line? really good at sewing. When I started modeling latex I had a lot of girls approach me wanting to do the same but a latex dresses You can find me at: www.deannamariepinup.com or can be pricey. Then I discovered i could give them the opportunity to wear something similar to latex for a 1/4 of the cost and www.facebook.com/deannamariepinup Adhesive Fashion was born. and you can find the line at: www.adhesive-fashion.com Did you know.. you don’t need scissors to cut duct tape - it can be ripped with your bare hands. Verbal Abuse is still ABUSE

Print wants you to know that ABUSE comes in all forms. Words (written or spoken) hurt more than actions sometimes, and we want you to pratice using GOOD words. Make sure your thinking about what your saying before you say it, watch foul language around children, make sure your checking what your saying online, and be respectful. When you speak clearly, your message is clear. Like momma always said: “If you don’t have anything nice to say.. don’t say it at all. thanks mom

Did you know: There aren’t any words that rhyme with orange, purple, silver, or month. (Find more WORD facts HERE)

Jarad Lee makes us feel like we’re in a game..

P: So whats your MUSIC name Is it nintendo? No P: It should be! My music name is simply Jarad Lee for now

P: We love zelda music lol Have you been writing music long? I’ll tell you you kind of popped up on me with this music thing. I didn’t even know you did any of it. Why now? I’ve been writing music for a year now I started last school year I wanted to get back into college and I used to dabble with tracking programs on a DS that I modded. It was a gift from Shelaine, and that kind of got me into the nintendo sound as well. So i took up piano and music theory and I took it up very well. Now i’m teaching piano P: Wow, that really cool how a DS changed your life. You need to write that into Nintendo lol So where do you see your music next? In my head I see myself headed towards Juilliard and even into europe to study abroad P: How about a EP first? I don’t feel like my music is quite marketable yet, it’s more just for recital performance and pedagogy. But if at some point I do start leaning towards the more Pop/bebop style of music i’d definitely like to put out a CD or even a free mp3 album P: Where can we find you? www.myspace.com/p4hp

is where I put most of my music , but of course I still have a folder on my computer full of music that no one else hears.

P: Your music sounds like nintendo sounds though. Thanks , Ideally i’d like to produce Video game music P: Where did you come up with the sound? it was influenced upon me by other artists and through years of playing old school nintendo P: Who are some of your influences? Koji Kondo Composer of most of the Zelda and Mario score and other artists like Aphex Twin, The Prodigy , Sabrepulse , Saskrotch, Anamanaguchi Click the link to Listen to JARAD’s music HERE HERE TOO! THIS TOO YOU BETTER LIKE THIS BECAUSE THIS IS ANOTHER ONE!

The city is gritty, dark, and hard. The subways rumble on and on. The rats scurry as the people overflow Onto the station and up to the neon show. Outsiders look up, locals look straight. The hawkers haggle, the hookers wait. The traffic rushes scornful of the streets Marred and littered with a million moving feet.

And yet the congregations grow. Worldly masses turn and flow To money as muslims do to Mecca. And pilgrims walk amidst the glimpses of gods in Tribeca. Poem: “The City by Prabhath Avadhanula
