It is with great anticipation that we look forward to and welcome you to this year’s event. We have once again decided that the December date was in everyones best interest, with the year winding down and the harvest and fall shows completed. Calves have gone to market, hay is up and grain is in the bin so we understand that people are in a better place to take advantage of our sale offering. Our outstanding set of calves will have that extra two and a half months of growth, time and the start on feed that is so important for the settling in of winter. Our great set of bred females will be further along in calf, with less time between clipping that “coupon” for your important investment dollars. This sale date change last year proved to be beneficial to the buyers and their support was very appreciated.

This year’s offering definitely has something for everyone. You will notice some exciting new genetics as well as some of our herd based “tried and true” individuals. One of the highlights of last years sale was offering HSF Your Fantasy that was purchased

by Edwards Limousin from Saskatchewan. This heifer holds a special place in our daughter Cassie’s heart. She Jackpotted the young female last spring as well as used her as her 4-H heifer project... as a result.... Great Success! Days before this catalog went to press this impressive female as awarded the 2012 National Champion Limousin Female in Brandon, Manitoba. Interest in the heifer has not only came from fellow Limousin breeders, but people of other breeds coment and truly appreciate the female. I am very proud that an animal with so much influence in the industry has a HSF prefix! People have commented “don’t you wish you had never sold half of her?” our answer is simple... NO! It is just as important, if not more, for our customers to have success with our breeding program as we do for ourselves, that is why we offer the top cut of the herd in these fall production sales.

As you flip through the pages of this years catalog you will notice the name TMCK Durham Wheat throughout the service section of the bred females. This is a bull that was purchased from Tubmill Creek in their 2010 Bull Sale, his dam MAGS Strawberry Pie now resides as a donor at Highland and combined with Deuce on the top side we knew this was a herdsire that we needed and would make a big impact in our program. What we did not expect is that this bull after breeding several females in the pastures would go on and continue to progress and bloom into the 2012 National Champion Limousin Bull. What a great way for a herdsire to end a year!

We also would like to invite all of our guests and friends to a pre-sale customer appreciation and Christmas party. This year has been a great year to be in the Limousin business as well as the cattle business as a whole, and that is truly a reason to celebrate.
