On the third day of July in the year two thousand and eleven, my father celebrated his sixtieth birthday and concluded his service in Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (a Government of India undertaking) marking an end to a long and eventful career in service. Life at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant was plentiful. With turn-over progression charts, the union negotiations, the ministry pressures and the societal obligations also came power and comfort. All was thoroughly enjoyed. Now, life after retirement is blissful. Amidst the packing, relocation and uncertainty there is time for conversation and relaxation. Let’s retire, they said.
