THE STUDENT COUNCIL The student council always focuses its attention on working. Following are all the plans they have done that are advantageous for other students. 1. Relationship sports are held for students to exercise and to develop a sense of community. They especially help to connect relationships between high school students and introduce some new sports to them. The student council chose wellknown international sports for these competitions, dodgeball for girls and soccer for boys. 2. Umbrella borrowing is now available for all personnel and students in high school. The umbrella can be rented whenever they want to use it. The main purpose is to convince people to support the idea of public belongings. When people want to rent an umbrella, they have to register by scanning the given QR code. Then, they can take an umbrella back home and return it the following day. 3. PRC Stage is where students’ unlimited expertise is shown. With this stage, students can improve their own proficiency. The student council manages this project serially so that there is a new episode weekly. As for the Mini Concert, its objective is to entertain every student for each special event. It is surely going to proceed next semester. 4. Voluntary camp is for students to experience more work management skills and also to improve their generosity. Used straws are collected and recycled to make pillows for bedridden patients. This recycled pillow project receives straw cleaners every Wednesday and Friday, and volunteers are going to get the volunteer certification. Another project is staple collecting. The student council collects wasted staples weekly from each classroom through the given magnets. The aim of this project is to make prosthetic legs from wasted materials. 5. The student council has a language development community, where members share vocabularies that can be used in daily life. Important words and techniques that can be used for the IELTS test are also available. Also, basic commonly used words in other important languages such as Chinese, French, and many more can be found on the council’s Instagram account. 6. The student council manages a program to assist students in preparing to apply to universities. This program supports students by providing updates about universities via the student council’s Instagram page. 7. Ever feel disappointed or discouraged? The student council has their own Twitter account where individuals that need a helping hand or moral support can chat with others. This makes students become mentally stronger; anyone can go online and ask for help at any time. 8. One way to make the environment better is to sort out garbage. The student council has different garbage bins for each type of waste. These can be found around the school, along with poster signs that show where and how to throw out garbage. Everyone can be part of the effort to create a better environment.

Lewis Hamilton Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton, a British racing driver, was born on 7 January 1985 in Stevenage, Hertfordshire; he was also raised there. Currently, he is competing in Formula One for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team. A six-time Formula One World Champion, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers in the history of the sport, and considered by some to be the greatest of all time. Hamilton enjoyed a successful ascent up the racing ladder and was signed to the McLaren young driver program in 1998. This later resulted in a Formula One drive with McLaren in 2007, making Hamilton the first and only black driver to race in the sport. Later, he won his first World Driver’s Championship with McLaren in 2008, before moving to Mercedes in 2013.

As one of the most successful drivers in the history of the sport, Hamilton’s six World Championship titles is the second-most of all time, as is his tally of 90 race victories. He additionally holds the records for the all-time most career points at 3621, the all-time most pole positions at 95, the all-time most podium finishes at 158, and the most points in a season at 413. This year, Lewis won the 2020 Laureus World Sportsman of the Year Award at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Berlin. The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team was one of six nominees for World Team of the Year. Moreover, he has been a vocal and prominent campaigner against racism since the death of American George Floyd in May. He performed the Black Power salute on top of his Mercedes car and on top of the podium after winning the Styrian Grand Prix.

Ruth Handler Ruth Handler was the founder of Mattel Inc. and Barbie dolls. It all began with her determination in believing that a girl could become whatever she wanted to be, and that a woman has choices. Ruth Handler’s insight was that girls of the 1950s no longer wanted to grow up just to be mothers, and the Barbie doll announced a certain emancipation from motherhood. Barbie has always been a legend and a dream toy for every kid since the 50s. Perhaps because her childhood differed from others, Ruth was a tomboy and shunned dolls so she learned how to play with paper dolls from her daughter and finally her first collection was launched in New York named as “Barbara” which is her daughter’s name.

Unfortunately, the doll was completely unlike the other famous toys at that moment - therefore many people refused to purchase it. But over the next few years, an entire industry sprang up around Barbie and reflected a big impact on fashion to women. Barbie started to come up with dream houses, cars, pools and friends. Approximately 1 billion Barbie dolls have been sold in four decades, with worldwide annual sales topping $1.9 billion. Ruth Handler died in 2002, at the age of 85, due to a complication during surgery to treat colon cancer, but her legacy and Barbie dolls have lived on in the world’s heart.

Persecution of People with Albinism

By Nantadcha Thirattayoat, Panicha Kiatchirakul, Pavida Luxsananun (10th grade), Nichapat Kongkaew, Rungwassana Pilakanta (11th grade)

Tanzania, or the United Republic of Tanzania, is an East African country. It borders Uganda to the north, Kenya to the northeast and Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Tanzani a has one of the highest albinism rates and is one of the poorest countries in the world. Moreover, Tanzani a also has the highest murder rate in Africa, too. Common targets are people with albinism. Because of the belief that the body parts of albinos could bring them wealth and good luck, the rich pay 3000-40 00 USD or up to 75000 USD for body parts. The culprit will kidnap the albinos or some family that has albinos in their family will traffic them. In some cases, while the albino is sleeping, culprits trespass into their house and chop off their legs or arms. Some people believe that raping an albino can cure AIDS. Especially during the period of elections, the amount of persecution increases thanks to politica l campaigns that attempt to use black magic to win. In addition, the other cause is eagerness to obtain money. Payment is more than triple the minimum rate of salary. Accordingly, it leads to silent killing in Tanzania and the suffering of albinos has been widespread - even in their own family. These are the cruel things that some people have done to albinos, so some albinos choose to run away and escape from here.

How to deal with people with different opinions? Having friends is very important; they’ll help you with your work, with your school life, with your tasks of meeting other people and much more. But it is most important that you know there’s someone who cares about you and will always be there for you. However, you may sometimes find that you and your friends have come into conflict, mostly because of differing opinions, and it seems that there are no other ways around it. In this article, we will show you how you can resolve this troublesome situation. 1.Listen to the other side with an open mind. Everyone comes from different places, different environments and different conditions which can lead to their thoughts. Listening to each other can let you learn something new and also exchange your thoughts with them. Try to understand the diversity of opinions with an open mind. 2. Respect their right to an opinion. Humans are born with rights. Everyone has their own rights but we should use the rights in the right way; no one should be discriminated against for their beliefs. Even if you have a different opinion but your opinion doesn’t have an effect on someone, it’s good that you share your opinion. 3. Stay calm and objective. Try to stay calm and look at the situation objectively. No one is trying to win. You are trying to better understand someone else’s perspective. Focus on the objective facts over feelings and understanding of someone else’s perspective. Even when you strongly disagree, respect the person enough to remain calm. 4. Use positive language No one wants to hear all the bad things they have done in the past. If you speak in negatives, you will hurt the person. If you can bring positivity to what you are trying to say, the disagreement can be resolved more quickly and easily. 5. Avoid personal insults. Insults can damage our prospects and happiness by undermining our self-confidence and self-esteem. It probably goes without saying that you should keep your communication respectful. There’s no reason to start assaulting someone else’s personal qualities because you happen to have differing views. 6. Appreciate the value of diversity. When you and those in your company feel compelled to arrive at the same viewpoints, it will be painfully difficult for you to experience a division between you and anyone else. Differences can lead to increased resistance to leadership and change because others might not understand and trust you. We gain from sharing opinions and, in the process, feel more invested in society at large.

Rainy season is passing and winter is approaching. Mostly, people feel that rain makes you feel lonely, but music can heal loneliness. Diving through memories, commemorating the precious. An anonymous person said “sometimes it only takes one good song to bring back thousands of good memories” and here are some songs that are relatable, so sit back and recollect your fallen memories. Starting with “Photograph” a song written by Ed Sheeran. The song is easy-listening. Sheeran wrote “Photograph” while he was away from his then-girlfriend during the concert tour. This song is mainly about a long-distance relationship The next song is “Memories” by Maroon 5. . This song reminds you of the good memories that you and your friends had. Adam Levine is addressing a close friend whom he obviously has been separated from for some time. And it is obvious that he misses them a lot. He approaches this by acknowledging the inevitable pains which life sometimes brings our way. However, we should not be concerned because ‘everything is going to be alright’. Last but not least, we cannot forget about this song, “History” by One Direction. It is both nostalgic and forward-looking at the same time. It’s the last song that One Direction released before the members separated and went their own ways. Memories they had made together are included in this song. Every party has its own ending and one day, everything will become a memory and it will last a lifetime.
