The Edwin T. Pratt scholarship opened up another world for me. It allowed me the time and space to do research for my practice as it relates to different mediums, such as glass and printmaking. This opportunity at Pratt has allowed me to think about photography in a more dynamic way. It is beginning to feel like a different phase of my work. Sculpture Marilyn Montufar uses photography to advocate for and inspire social change. She is primarily interested in documenting the transitions inherent in human relationships through the practice of portraiture and in exploring the ever-evolving urban and natural landscape. In 2018, Marilyn received the Edwin T. Pratt scholarship which provides opportunities for artists of color to advance their careers through education, studio access, time for research, and exposure to new mediums.

Youth & Teen Classes
Pay-What-You-Can Weekend Classes Pay-What-You-Can Weekend classes run fall, winter and spring during the school year on Saturdays and Sundays. Experiential 8 week art classes for youth ages 5 – 13 where students explore self-expression through painting, drawing, sculpture and other media. In a supportive environment students develop their creativity and become more comfortable with the process of making and the vocabulary of art. Winter Theme: Wearable Art The pay-what-you-can model depends on your donations and support to ensure our sustainability. Pratt provides suggested donation amounts for selected classes with the goal of “paying it forward” and assisting those who struggle with providing affordable art experiences to their children.
