PPCW said good-bye to President & CEO David Greenberg after eleven years. During David’s tenure from 2001-2012, PPCW tripled the number of patients served, built a strong education program, pioneered online health services, created two vital public policy organizations in Oregon and Washington, and built new health centers in both states. We are grateful to David for his years of service.

PPCW is undergoing significant changes in an effort to streamline operations and improve patient experience in our health centers. Integrating best practices, databased information, and consultation with a national team of experts, we are at the forefront of innovation among Planned Parenthood affiliates. PPCW also enacted its first union contract, the terms of which demonstrate that we continue to invest in our most valuable asset—our employees.

PPCW’s Education department expanded its Teen Outreach Program (TOP), now in eight schools in Portland and Salem. Nearly 1,500 students are enrolled in one of PPCW’s effective youth development and teen pregnancy prevention programs. Our comprehensive, evidence-based programs make PPCW a leading provider of sex education in Oregon. With the anticipated implementation of major aspects of the Affordable Care Act early in 2014, PPCW is proactively ensuring that we are a go-to provider for sexual and reproductive health services among Oregon’s new Coordinated Care Organizations. In our effort to enhance patient-centered care, we are also preparing to launch the use of Electronic Health Records at our health centers in 2014. State-of-the-art health information technology will lead to improved health outcomes for patients, a goal of the ACA as well as of PPCW.

On June 1, 2013, PPCW welcomes Stacy James as the organization’s sixth President & CEO in fifty years. James is a proven leader who is committed to expanding access to affordable health care and education, and advocating on behalf of women’s health. She comes to us from Planned Parenthood of Montana where she led significant affiliate improvements. PPCW looks forward to continued quality in health care delivery and innovation in our changing world under Stacy’s leadership.
