INSPIRING STORY ALEX PARRY

355lbs-193lbs

When I moved from Canada to Texas I managed to gain a lot of weight because I played video games all the time and ate whatever I wanted. On February 5th 2010 I decided that I wanted to lose weight and walked into a gym for the first time in my life. I had no idea what I was doing and had to research how to workout for the first few months. Within about 6 months I had lost about 100lbs. After all the positive feedback I continued to work out and diet. Today I work at Just Fitness in Carrollton TX and continue to inspire people with my story. I also just created the Facebook page Accomplish Everything Fitness. It is now my goal to inspire and motivate people to achieve their fitness goals. This had been one of the toughest feats so far in my life, but definitely the most rewarding! You can accomplish anything! Accomplish Everything!

Curtis Henderson grew up a very lonely foster child, but hitting the gym helped him turn his solitary frustrations into power. He was born in Thomasville, North Carolina, but moved shortly after to Springfield, Massachusetts. At age 18, Henderson was introduced to weight training. While attending Springfield Central High School, he was in and out of foster homes constantly, all the while playing sports and lifting weights, as they were one of his only outlets for frustration, sadness, and anger. Soon sports became his main focus: Track, football, boxing, and hockey became a way for him to forget about his troubles.

Curtis Henderson: A Fighter in More Ways Than One By Noah Williams

In 1999, Henderson graduated from high school, but financial issues got in the way of his pursuit of higher education. It was then that he decided to pursue professional boxing. On his way to achieving his newly set goals, Henderson says, “Victor James, the Wheatley Brothers, and the Mickey Minagorri family, as well as many others were a great inspiration to me.” Henderson later went on to win the Golden Gloves Jr. Olympics and was invited to be on a national team in the Cayman Islands. After several years of training and winning and losing, Henderson was living in Miami, still pursuing a career in boxing. “I worked hard day and night. One of my jobs was at Mango’s on Ocean Dr. in Miami Beach, where I did all I could to support myself. I stayed in Miami for two or three years and I continually trained extensively. I trained myself, as well as clients, who found my work ethic and physique exceptional and wanted to share the same qualities. This became a big stepping stone for me, seeing as now I’d like to train athletes sometime in the near future.” While in Miami, Henderson was offered an opportunity to move to New York to box professionally. In a whirlwind of enthusiasm and excitement, he packed up his things and jumped on a plane to New York. It was only after reaching New York that he found out the offer had been a sham. Nobody followed through on anything, he was out of money, and he soon found himself in a shelter for six long months. Still, Henderson trained day in and day out, not giving up, and constantly looking for opportunities. Eventually he found an abandoned house, which he moved in to. With a roof over his head, he was finally able to get back on his feet. Henderson then participated in the Boiler Maker, where he met Earl Reed, who would become a good friend. Reed was nice enough to sponsor Henderson; soon after, Henderson was featured in the paper

Curtis Henderson: A Fighter in More Ways Than One By Noah Williams

The media attention opened a whole new door. He met people, made connections, and, before long, was living in a nice place that was his own. He got a job working at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, where he met his current girlfriend. But even with so much going right, it was not to be smooth sailing. Through a series of events that he does not go into detail about, Henderson was placed on life support twice. But, he says, “I rebounded both times and overcame my past experiences by the grace of God, who has helped me continue to train and pursue my goals.” One of those goals was his first bodybuilding show, the 2012 Naturally Fit Super Show in Austin, Texas. “The show opened my eyes to the world of competition,” Henderson says. “After realizing that my physique was more suitable for the realm of bodybuilding than modeling, I came back to New York with sights set on the NYS Grand Prix.” At this show, he placed 1st in the novice class and 2nd in the overall. Currently, Henderson trains full time and is in EMT school. He participates in bodybuilding, boxing, running, and the occasional yoga or spin class — all of which he does at Powerhouse Gym in Utica, New York. As for the future, Henderson plans to compete in the Team Universe and IFBB North American Championships. His new ambition is to go pro. “My primary goal now is to become a professional bodybuilder. In order to do so, I will need to continue to train harder, train smarter, and train better — not to mention, critique any flaws I had in my last show.”

GUNNING FOR SUCCESS AHMAD AHMAD By Ryan Ellison

IFBB Pro Ahmad Ahmad From straight out of Malmo, Sweden comes IFBB pro bodybuilder Ahmad Ahmad, who has the drive and determination to become a legend in the sport. He’s pushing his mind and body to the absolute limits; all while keeping a humble attitude and not letting anything knock him down. He lives by the motto, “if you don’t make it the first time, re-evaluate and then dominate.” To become an IFBB pro bodybuilder takes years of hard work and determination. It’s not a hobby; it’s a lifestyle, which at times can be mentally and physically grueling. There’s nothing easy about the sport - just different levels of difficulty.

AHMAD AHMAD

Ahmad is no stranger to overcoming obstacles and doing what it takes to win. He has methodically set a series of small goals that have led to a larger goal. He wants to place in the top 6 in the Olympia 212lb class within 3 years. Once that is accomplished, he will work towards placing in the top 3. Ahmad is aware of the amount of unstoppable will and dedication required to take on some of the world’s top competitors at the Olympia.

Ahmad has participated in the following competitions: 2012 - Wings of Strength Pro, 212lb, 3rd 2012 - IFBB Toronto Pro Super Show, 212lb, 6th 2011 - IFBB Europa Super Show, 202lb, 6th 2010 - Sacramento Pro, 202lb, 8th 2010 - Mt Olympia, 202lb, 14th 2010 - Phoenix Pro, 202lb, 2nd 2009 - Atlantic City Pro, 202lb, 8th 2009 - Pittsburg Pro, 4th 2008 - Europa Super Show, 14th 2008 - Los Angeles Championships, Light Heavyweight, 1st 2008 - Los Angeles Championships, Overall, 1st 2006 - Nationals, 80kg, 1st 2006 - European Championships, 2nd 2003 - Nationals, 75kg, 1st 2002 - Nordic Championships, 80kg, 1st

AHMAD AHMAD

Ahmad was an avid rugby player in his younger days, which was the initial reason he began implementing a weight-training routine. He knew that gaining size and strength is an advantage in any physical sport. Once he hit the weights, he discovered what his body was capable of, and he became interested in bodybuilding. Ahmad’s training split: Day 1: chest/tri Day 2: quads/ calves Day 3: rest Day 4: back/bi Day 5: shoulder/tri Day 6: back legs, calves Day 7: rest

Ahmad knows that if he wants to place higher in the Olympia, he must improve in leg size. To accomplish this goal, he has started training his legs twice a week. This allows him to focus more on the individual muscle groups, versus training them as one muscle group. Even though his legs may need improvement, his arms and abs are spot-on and are definitely his favorite and most symmetrical muscle groups. With Ahmad, there is more than meets the eye. He is more than just a bodybuilder; he is a business man. He owns a supplement store called the Body Science Pro Store. He also is the owner and operator of his own gym, AA Elite Fitness. Outside of his bodybuilding career and owning two businesses, Ahmad enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling the world. He takes the time to enjoy life and is very thankful for everything that he has been blessed with. Even though Ahmad has decided to take 2 years off from competing due to a shoulder injury, we know he will come back bigger and stronger than ever. He will surely be ready to dominate every competition and become a legend in the sport.
