TIMBERS ACADEMY UPDATE TIMBERS U-18 ACADEMY The Timbers U-18 Academy saw their three-game unbeaten streak snapped in a 2-1 loss to Crossfire Premier on April 27 at Redmond (Wash.) High School. Forward Christian Desir scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season in the 78th minute, but the Timbers U-18s (9-11-5, 32pts) were unable to overcome the two-goal deficit. The Timbers U-18 Academy has just three games remaining in the regular season, including a weekend set against the San Jose Earthquakes U-18s (May 4) and Cal Odyssey U-18s (May 5) at the adidas Timbers Training Facility. TIMBERS U-16 ACADEMY Despite a 3-0 loss against Crossfire Premier on April 27, the Timbers U-16s still hold onto a U.S. Soccer Development Academy wildcard playoff berth. The Timbers U-16s (10-7-8, 38pts) are in the final wildcard spot ahead of this weekend’s contests against the San Jose Earthquakes U-16s (May 4) and Cal Odyssey U-16s (May 5) at the adidas Timbers Training Facility.
