The Green Notebook
Along with the diaries and the letters of Alejandra Pizarnik, The Green Notebook, a palace of quotes, emerges from the shipwreck of her death. Every reading is also a silent writing, and the unexpected preferences of Pizarnik, which go from the popular and the classic Spanish literature, to the Mayan chants, and from French surrealism to the texts of the Old Testament, weave a text that breathes with a peculiar intensity. A University of Buenos Aires graduate of Philosophy & Letters, Ivonne Bodelois conducted literary and linguistic studies at La Sorbonne. In collaboration with Alejandra Pizarnik she did translations and interviews for various national and Latin American publications. In 1968, she was awarded a Conicet Scholarship and completed a PhD with Noam Chomsky at MIT (1974). In 1983 she received a Guggenheim fellowship. Some of her published works include Correspondencia Pizarnik (Planeta, 1998), and El país que nos habla (La Nación, 2005).
