Exhibition catalogue for ALEJANDRA at The Point of Contact Gallery (2010, Syracuse NY). This 45-page catalogue, printed in limited edition, documents an international contemporary art collective inspired by the life and poetry of Alejandra Pizarnik, a voice from the sixties in Latin America, an existential reflection. One of Argentina's adored poets, Alejandra Pizarnik achieved literary greatness in the Spanish world, and met an early death in 1972, at the age of 36. Contemporary artists featured: Graciela Sacco (Argentina), Patricia Betancur (Uruguay); Nayda Collazo-Llorens (Puerto Rico), Mary Giehl (USA), and Emily Vey Duke and Cooper Battersby (Canada).
A visual and verbal exploration, this exhibit complements the 2010 release of a Point of Contact journal special edition dedicated to Alejandra Pizarnik. The new publication features a series of unedited letters about poetry, from young Alejandra.
