Business Briefs NK Family Practice acquired by Immediate Clinic POULSBO — Immediate Clinic Urgent Care, a Seattle-based healthcare company, has acquired North Kitsap Family Practice and Urgent Care, 20730 Bond Road NE, Suite 205, Poulsbo. The terms of acquisition were not disclosed. Immediate Clinic now has 10 centers in the greater Seattle area. This is its first location in Kitsap County. Dr. Robert V. Bethel, president of North Kitsap Family Practice and Urgent Care, said the partnership will “enhance our ability to provide ongoing medical care at our location in Poulsbo where we have been privileged to be a part of the community for the last 40 years. This association is anticipated to help us provide the combination of urgent care and primary care for the foreseeable future in a way that meets the needs of the patients we are honored to serve.� Jeromy Sjolseth, director of operations for Immediate Clinic, said patients can expect to receive “the same excellent care and service�

that they have received in the past.� Immediate Clinic is known for its sleek centers with bright colors, flatscreen TVs in the reception area and waiting rooms, Wi-Fi and loaner iPads so patients stay entertained and connected. On Immediate Clinic’s website (www.immediateclinic. com/north-kitsap-familypractice), customers can check patient volumes and book an appointment so when they arrive for treatment they have little to no wait. Doctors and providers are monitored with patient surveys. North Kitsap Family Practice and Immediate Clinic Urgent Care is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Port Gamble’s Tango Zulu expands to Seattle PORT GAMBLE — Port Gamble’s Tango Zulu is opening a second retail store, in the Pioneer Square district of downtown Seattle. The new store, also called Tango Zulu, will be

located in the historic City Club building at 108 First Ave. South. It will offer a wide range of high quality, sweatshop-free artisan clothing, housewares, and body products. Like its sister store in Port Gamble, it will specialize in handcrafted African baskets. “We were attracted to Pioneer Square because of its vibrant arts community and beautiful historical buildings. Our products don’t belong in a mall,â€? coowner Tracy Zhu said. The new store is slated to open in mid-June. Tango Zulu was founded in Port Gamble in 2010 by Kingston residents Drew and Tracy Zhu. It occupies the historic Morrill Pope building at 32239 Rainier Ave. NE, where it retails high-quality artisan clothing and housewares that are either fair trade-certified or made in the USA. According to the Zhus, the business has enjoyed double-digit annual growth since its inception. It is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and also has an e-commerce site, www.tangozuluimports.com.

Peninsula Credit Union provides $6,000 in ed grants POULSBO — A grant from Peninsula Credit Union (www.pcfcu.org) will pay for a new digital piano for the West Sound Academy International Baccalaureate Program in Poulsbo. That’s just one of the ways PCU educational grants will be used. Grants will fund the teaching of phonics to preschoolers with puppets at Chimicum Creek Primary School in Port Hadlock, provide incubators for hatching baby chicks from eggs in science projects serving special education students in North Mason and Kitsap counties, an art wall for students at Taholah School on the Quinault Indian Reservation, and an algebra program at Oakland Bay Junior High in Shelton using common objects to help visualize complex math equations.
