The Kitsap County Coroner’s Office has determined that a Brinnon woman, whose body was found on Blake Island, died from salt water drowning. An autopsy was performed last week by a forensic pathologist in contract with the coroner’s office. The body of 46-year-old Collete Scotta Russell was discovered around 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 21 on the shoreline of Blake Island by a male boater who had been hiking along the island’s beaches, according to Deputy Scott Wilson, Kitsap County Sheriff ’s Office spokesman. He said a determination as to manner of death is pending completion of toxicology testing and return of the test results. Wilson said Russell was last seen onboard the vessel “Sea Fisher” at Pier 91 in Seattle. The Port of Seattle Police Department reported her disappearance, and entered her name and basic description into the Washington Crime Information Center, and the National Crime Information Center data bases, as a missing person, at 7:43 p.m. on Jan. 16.
