COMPOSING MANAGER Sound Publishing, Inc. is looking for a dynamic candidate to manage the creative services operations for our north Olympic Peninsula publicat i o n s : T h e Pe n i n s u l a Daily News, Sequim Gazette and Forks Forum. This is a FT, Salaried position located in beautiful Port Angeles, WA. The position oversees 10 employees and the process that insures all display ads r un when and as ordered; and that ad proofs are delivered/transmitted to customers and sales consultants as requested. Would coordinate with the Editor for page production and assist the Publisher with any marketing tasks/projects.
Sound Publishing is seeking a general assignment reporter with writing experience and photography skills. Primary coverage will be Renton/Tukwila. Schedule may include some evening and/or weekend work. As a reporter for Sound Publishing, you will be expected to: take photographs of the stories you cover by using a digital camera; to post on the publication’s web site; to blog and use Twitter on the web; to be able to use InDesign t o l ay o u t p a g e s ; t o shoot and edit videos for the web. The most highly valued traits are: to be committed to community journalism and value ever ything from shor t, brief-type stories about people and events to examining issues facing the community; to be inquisitive and resourceful in the coverage of assigned beats; to be comfor table producing five bylined stories a week; the ability to write stories that are tight and to the point; to be a motivated self-starter; to be able to establish a rapport with the community.
