POULSBO — Zane R. Tempia, 18, of Silverdale, is charged in Kitsap County District Court with reckless driving. On July 18, a caller reported a teal-colored vehicle was doing “donuts” and “slamming into a fence at North Kitsap Little League” fields. As a sheriff’s deputy approached the fields on Viking Way, he passed a teal-colored Ford Thunderbird followed by a Poulsbo Police car with its lights activated. The Thunderbird took the ramp for northbound Highway 3 and began passing cars illegally and accelerating. The driver pulled over just south of
Equestrian Drive. The driver was identified as Tempia, but he did not have his driver’s license. The officers found Tempia’s license was suspended. Tempia reportedly told officers he was doing donuts and hit the fence at the ball fields. When one of the officers asked why he didn’t pull over, and if it was to get away from the police, Tempia replied, “That might have been a factor in my decision-making,” according to the report. Tempia was booked into Kitsap County Jail on $5,000 bail.

charged with first-degree criminal trespass. On July 29, the owner of a vacant home for sale on Viking Way in Poulsbo called to report an unknown man in the house. The reporting party heard water in the bathroom running and saw clothing in a bedroom. She then saw a man lying on the floor in the dining room and called 9-1-1. Officers identified Stark, who was intoxicated and said he was looking for a place to sleep, according to the report. It appeared the glass rear door had been forced open and damaged in the process.
