Lions sell Christmas trees The Oak Harbor Lions Club will begin its annual Christmas Tree Sale fundraiser from noon to 7 p.m. Nov. 24, and then daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Dec. 23 or until sold out. The stand will be located in the park across from the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce, 32630 Highway 20. The Christmas trees are delivered within two weeks of cutting from Deming, Wash. Sizes range from three to nine feet tall. All proceeds support community service projects.

Veterans serve monthly breakfast Breakfast will be served at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7392 from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 25. The breakfast features pancakes, eggs, hash browns, breakfast meats and biscuits-n-gravy. The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for seniors (62 and over), $4 for kids (under 12). All are welcome. Celebrate the season with “Impressions of Christmas,” Whidbey Community Chorus’ annual Christmas concerts at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7 and 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, both at the First United Methodist Church in Oak Harbor. Whidbey’s largest chorus, under the direction of conductor Chet Hansen, pictured, will sing sacred to secular Christmas classics. From Nov. 23 through Dec. 17, Displaced Orphans International will be selling Christmas trees at six Skagit Farmer’s Supply locations to raise money to feed, house and care for Orphan Refugee Children in Thailand and Myanmar.
