REGISTRATION INFORMATION Did You Know?? You can register for programs at the District Office. The District Office is open from 9am – 4pm Monday to Friday. We hope this makes it convenient for you to register in advance of our programs. Registering in advance allows us time to consider implementing an extra class if the course is full, to ensure adequate materials and supplies are available, and to implement staff/instructor changes should we need to expand the program.

Sorry, the Course is Full Some classes fill quickly. If the class you want is full, please ask to be placed on the waitlist. You will be contacted if space becomes available or if we add additional classes.

Changed your plans? A full credit or refund will be issued if we receive withdrawal information prior to the course start date unless specified otherwise during registration. There is a form available at the District Office to apply for credits/refunds. It is extremely helpful if you have a copy of your receipt to attach to your application. What?! You had to cancel it? Sometimes excellent courses with excellent instructors are cancelled if everyone waits until the last minute to register (think “Tofino time”). Register early to avoid disappointment for yourself and others. New Program Idea? Tofino Parks and Recreation is always looking for new programs. If you have a skill you’d like to share please give us a call or stop by the District Office. We always have a need for instructors, coaches and volunteers!

Program Minimum Ages For the enjoyment of all participants, children must be the correct age prior to the first class of the program. Exceptions may apply for program-specific reasons.

Accessibility We believe that recreation programs should be accessible to all children in our

community regardless of ability to pay. If you find it difficult to participate in any program because of financial limitations, please speak with one of our staff.

Advanced Payment In order to secure your spot in a program, payments for the program must be received prior to the program commencing. By registering and paying for a program in advance, the instructor is able to prepare for the correct number of participants enrolled. If you call and register for a program, your spot is not secured until you come into the district and pay for the class/program. By paying in advance for your program it alleviates the Parks and Recreation Staff from having to phone and chase up payments during the program’s session. It also ensures instructors receive their payments in a timely fashion. If you are unable to make the full program payment prior to the start of the program, please let one of the Parks and Recreation staff know and alternative arrangements may be made.

Pro-Rating Policy By registering and paying for a program, you are committing to attending the full duration of the program. Refunds will not be granted for days missed, unless this is agreed upon in advance with the instructor. Pro-rating for classes must be arranged through the teacher instructing the course. *New Billing Policy All program participants should register and pay in advance for Tofino Parks and Recreation programs. If participants begin attending a program without registering, they will be added to an accounts receivable billing system with our Finance Department, and issued a formal invoice for each program they attend. If program fees are a participation barrier for you or your family, please contact the Parks and Recreation department to make alternate arrangements prior to the start date of the program.
