Warning issued If a guy named Gerry comes to your door trying to sell his contracting skills, it’s probably a scam. That’s the warning from police after a pair of homeowners got a visit from a possible scammer recently. Police said a “door-to-door contractor” visited the two PoCo homeowners on Jan. 9. They became suspicious of the contractor, who called himself Gerry, when they received a quote for paving.

Their suspicion led them to call the Surrey company Gerry claimed to work for. It turned out the company, which was not identified, has not had an employee named Gerry in 20 years. The company’s owner reported the incident to police after he heard the story from the homeowners. Police believe the suspect may also go by other names such as Jeremiah and Jeremy.
