Crusaders seek Ultimate game goes indoors new recruits The Chilliwack Ultimate
The Crusaders Dragon Boat Team is looking for active new recruits interested in learning to paddle and outrigger. The club practises every Tuesday beginning Feb. 5 at the Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre. Introduction starts at 8 p.m. followed by a coached poolside technique practice. All paddles and coaching supplied. The Crusaders also offer an ongoing open outrigger practice on Harrison Lake. Call 604-792-9336 (evenings) or 604-792-9252 (days) as seated is limited.
Sudden Impact needs paddlers Sudden Impact Paddling Club’s Storm Senior B women’s competitive dragon boat team is recruiting new members. Paddlers must be fit and over the age of 49. The team’s goal is to compete in the Senior B category at the Canadian Nationals in Victoria. They work under the guidance of former Olympian Kamini Jain. League offers a drop-in Indoor Ultimate season with all the same great fun, but in a dry, warm gym. The league plays Tuesday nights at the Landing Sports Centre on Spadina from 9 to 10:30 p.m. The drop-in fee is $5. Contact iain_april@shaw. ca for further details.
Women’s drop-in hockey A drop-in hockey league for women runs Tuesday nights from 9:15 to 10:15 p.m. at Prospera Centre. Cost is $20. To sign up in advance call 604-702-0062 or email Chilliwack@prosperacentre.com.
Chiefs hockey club on the bus The Chilliwack Chiefs hockey club hits the road this weekend. The Chiefs face the Silverbacks Friday in Salmon Arm. They then visit the West Kelowna Warriors Saturday. Both games are at 7 p.m.
Birdie bashers at Evergreen Calling all birdie bashers, want to have fun, make friends, burn off stress, and get exercise all at the same time. Come to women’s weekly drop-in badminton. All skill levels welcome, including beginners. Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Evergreen Hall (Corbould and Spadina). Drop-in fee of $5.

Brad started his career in the downtown Chilliwack Safeway in 1972. In 1983 he was promoted to store manager and managed several stores before returning to Chilliwack in 1987 where he managed the Sardis location for over fourteen years. Brad was born and raised in Chilliwack and after spending the last 12 years driving to Abbotsford he has returned home to manage the downtown Safeway. Brad is looking forward to serving his friends and neighbours once again.
