Parkland's library will be ready for use in one month, Roy Kreger, past president of the Comrnunity club, said this week, when asked by The Times for a date. Kreger stated that alf the material is ordered and that nil the carpenter needs to do now is to put up the shelves. Floor ' covering ·will follow after that, with Frank Lott donating his tilnc to lay the tile. As for the outside of the building, Kreger felt that that should be a summer project. Besides the 1,000 books being donated by the Pierce county library, the Parkland library will also -receive stlected rckrencc books from J ohu U. Xavier, reti reel PLC professor ·and pioneer Community clubber. Another large donation, Kreger announced, was received last week in the form of a paid bill. Frank Gratins graciously wrote-off the labor and material charges for the foundation.

Parkland's Business club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, in the parlors of Trinity Lutheran church, Club President Jack Brow u announced this week. The meeting date was changed because their regular W cdnesday date conflicts with Lenten services. Harvey Dahlin, display manager at W eisficld, will be the featured speaker. He will offer window display suggestions.

V.A. Expiains Rules On '.Loan~ for Widows The date a s<'rvicern:m dies has no bearing on the eligibility of his widow for a G.I. loan under the Housing Act of 1950, Veterans Admini.strntion ruled this week. The Act entitled unrcmarricd widows of those who died either in or after service, from service-connected causes, to the G.I. loan benefits for which their husbands would havC' ht'<'ll eligibh· lrnd they lived. There had been some donbt as to the eligibility of a widow whose serviceman husband died after July 25, 1947, the end of World War II for G.L Bill purposes. Today's ruling, Administrator's Decision No. 864, dispelled that doubt. In effect, it means that the widow of a serviceman who has had the required World War II service and who is killed in Korea may be entitled to a G.I. loan. Also, a widow would be entitled if her husband died from serviceconnected causes at any time in the future--so long as she applies before the end of the G.I. loan program on July 25, 1957. .
