With the primary election out of the way and party standard bearers picked the potitical battle will be getting into high gear with the tumult and the shouting continuing until Nove:rpber. The_ lack of opposition at the head qf the ticket also kept many Dj;!mocrats away from the polls. for example, one active Demo visited the polls at 7 p. m. on,e hour before closing time, and found an unusup_lly light vote. He rounded up several car. loads of fellow party members in the remaining hour and took them to vote. Most of them hadn't bothered to go to the polls because Mag· nu~?n had no opposition. Ten per·cent of the total· vote .in this precinct was brought out by one man in an automobile between the hours of 'l and 8 p.m. on election night.
