Kjerulf and numerous others have given us male chorus compo silions of lasting beauty compositions that rightfully belong among the finest the world has p roduced in this form of music.

The Norwegian Male Chorus extends a hearty welcome to all

Singers and friends alter:.ding this, the Thirty-Ninth Convention of

·the Association, and the first Scmgeriest to be held in Los Angeles.

Due to such traditions and musical environment, the Norwe glan people have cultivated a fine sense of appreciation of good

fondest hope that the Pacific Coast Norwegian Singers Association will continue its invaluable activity and keep alive that most sacred heritage from mother Norway, her incomparable music. It has been my fortune to lead another great movement among men and women of NorweglQn extraction. Sons of Nonvay has a purpose and a program that invites all men and women of Norwegia~ birth o~ descent, and their affiliates th.rough marriage . to do theIr share m the preservatlOn of everythmg that IS good and noble in the character of the old ~omela.nd and its heroic people. As good Amencan and CanadlQn cItizens we want to do our share in the upbuilding of our countries through the means of the cultural values brought here by our people. The Pacific Coast has a great and glorious record in the annals of Sons of Norway. From the independent Order estab lished in Seattle in 1903 it has been the most outstanding part of our international society to this day. With nearly 13.000 mem bers from Anchorage to San Dkgo we have built an organiza tion that you and your brothers and sister in the Singers Associa tion should be mighty proud to work with. The co-operation and fraternal feeling existing between your group and ours is of the very best. In this I am sure we will continue. While you are having your great Sangerfest I shall be in Norway. But although thousands of miles away, my heart and soul will be in Los Angeles with you . May you have the finest Sangerfest ~ver held and may the frUlts of your efforts be thousandfold.
