July free Movies in the Park The city of Pleasanton will show films, beginning at dusk, suitable for the entire family. Dates and moves will be available after Feb. 1. The movies are shown at Amador Valley Community Park, located at 4301 Black Ave.

The 23-acre park is centrally located and features picnic/barbecue facilities, two play structures, plenty of open space and ample parking. “oklahoma” Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre will present Rodgers & Hammerstein’s first collaboration that remains, in many ways, their most innovative. Set in Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background. Performances are July 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, and Aug. 3, 4, and 5 at Bankhead Theater, 2400 First Street, Livermore.

AuGust 15th Annual Pooch Parade The 15th annual Pooch Parade, a fundraiser for the Tri-Valley Guide Dogs for the Blind, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, in conjunction with the August First Wednesday Street Party. The parade features canines competing for prizes in different categories. Registration for the event, held at Lions Wayside, begins at 5 p.m.; parade starts at 7 p.m. and weaves its way up and down Main Street. • www.trivalleyguidedogs.org
