Gianfranco Mingozzi, assistente volontario alla regia, fu incaricato nel ‘59 da Federico Fellini di battere il primo ciak de La dolce vita, ora introduce allo stesso modo il video da lui diretto, da un’idea di Tullio Kezich, Noi che abbiamo fatto La dolce vita. Prodotto da RaiSat e dalla Fondazione Fellini di Rimini, il film riunisce una ventina di reduci di quella storica lavorazione. Fra gli intervistati figurano, oltre a quelli presenti in testimonianze d’archivio, Magali Noël e Yvonne Furneaux; e, tra coloro che persero l’occasione di fare il film, parlano da Hollywood Dino De Laurentiis e da Londra la veneranda Luise Rainer (99anni) in un documento eccezionale. In questi, a distanza di mezzo secolo, permane il dispiacere di essersi tirati indietro, negli altri c’è la consapevolezza di aver partecipato a un avvenimento memorabile perché, come diceva Marcello Mastroianni, “Essere stati su La dolce vita è come aver fatto il militare insieme...” “E come descrivere quel Fellini che aveva appena compiuto 38 anni? L’ho raccontato tante volte che non trovo l’immagine giusta: un rabdomante arrivato in prossimità dell’acqua, un cane che ha annusato i tartufi, un velocista pronto allo scatto? Solo a guardarlo ti faceva venire una voglia matta di saltare sulla nave che stava sciogliendo gli ormeggi, agli ordini di un capitano beffardamente coraggioso.” (Tullio Kezich, Noi che abbiamo fatto La dolce vita, Sellerio Editore Palermo)
Gianfranco Mingozzi, voluntary assistant to the director, was given the task by Federico Fellini of operating the first clapperboard in La Dolce Vita, and in the same way he now introduces the video he has himself directed, from an idea by Tullio Kezich, Noi che abbiamo fatto La dolce vita. Produced by RaiSat and the Fondazione Fellini in Rimini, the film brings together about 20 survivors of this historic film. Among those interviewed, apart from those present in archival interviews, are Magali Noël and Yvonne Furneaux; and among those who lost the opportunity of making the film are Dino De Laurentiis, speaking from Hollywood, and the venerable 99-year-old Luise Rainer from London, in an exceptional report. Half a century later, the regret of having said no is still tangible in these last two, while in the others there is the awareness of having taken part in a memorable event because, as Marcello Mastroianni said, “Having been on La dolce vita is like having been draftees in the army together…” “And how to describe that Fellini who had just turned 38? I have told the story so many times that I cannot find the right image: a water diviner who has come close to water, a dog that has sniffed out some truffles, a sprinter ready to take off?
