Recently we have been working to build up a new network dedicated to Food and Farming in Pembrokeshire. The network has been thought of as a sub group of our already established network – Pembrokeshire Sustainable Agricultural Network (PSAN). The food and farming group have met 3 times over these 6 month period with PLANED supporting the group’s activity, the first of this being a visit to Pembrokeshire schools to do a food mapping exercise. Jane Powell, Wales coordinator of Farming and Countryside Education (FACE) said: “To begin with, the children mainly thought of food as coming from supermarkets and cafes. It has been exciting to watch them ask

did a fantastic job of delivering interesting, informative talks with their own personal touches, which were very honest and often humorous! We also had updates from Andrew Thomas, Welsh Government and Carwyn Davies from the Pembrokeshire Food Park, planned to open in Withybush Industrial Estate. The day ended with social media sessions for both beginners and advanced users and gave a chance for one on one sessions with Tessa and networking opportunities between producers and exhibitors at the event.
