Thirty-two vans joined Anglia for the six-day meet with visitors from East Midlands, Yorkshire, Essex and Northern Counties, five first timers and one who joined at the rally. Teresa arranged a fish and chip order for Friday evening and they were very good. Saturday most went into town whilst others soaked up the sunshine. Carol bought a budgerigar in town having smuggled a cage on board when Derek wasn’t looking! Well whatever floats your boat! Saturday night David Seals sang for us in the hall with the music drifting across the field. Sunday morning Keith and Brian cooked free bacon rolls for all. Some went home whilst most walked into town for a roast dinner and at night David and Pat Hill from Essex provided music. Monday there were six games of bingo turning into a good night for Teresa who had three houses and a line. Tuesday hot weather to start but a storm in the afternoon really dampened the ground. Wednesday those of us left went in to town and in the evening played the Dice Game. A great break. Thanks to Brian, Jenny, Terresa, Keith plus Derek and Carol for taking the money before leaving on Sunday. Forty-four vans came to Sheringham for the pre Norwich Show TC. We had nine first timers and visitors from East Midlands, Chiltern, Essex, Severn Valley and Yorkshire. It was a very free and easy week with members going into town and further afield to Cromer, Norwich as well as riding the North Norfolk Railway to Holt. Unfortunately the weather was not kind enough to be able to put on any outside activities since of course we did not have the use of the hall but it did not stop everyone from enjoying themselves.

All units were parked in straight lines without the use of an infra red theodolite and despite a member's comments on Facebook no one suffered from OCD as a result. Seriously though, we have to abide by the rules as laid down by DEFRA as indeed do all clubs as a condition of their licence, so that there is access at all times for vehicles to move out in a safe manner. Can you imagine the chaos if we all parked where we liked? Thanks to Keith, Teresa, Derek, Carol, Tony and Carole for a great rally. Another reminder to all members that bookings are being taken for the Xmas Party at Wells on the 4th December, and New Year at Terrington. Contact Carol or Derek on dereksherman41@gmail.com or 01473 620933. Members are reminded that the AGM is in October and nominations will be required for officer posts. This will be put up at Burnt House as usual. Upcoming TCs: 9-13 September at Burnt House Farm, Witnesham IP6 9JE. Starts 1pm. 1-3 October is a new venue at Acle Academy, South Walsham Road, Acle NR13 3ER. This venue replaces Sir Harry Smith college at Whittlesey.

AVON The Beehive Field, Bradford-on-Avon Rally was a huge success and well attended. The field was superb and our members had many options of things to do in the lovely sunshine. Some took advantage of going to either Trowbridge or Bath on the bus which stopped outside the site, or a meander along the canal towpath to Bradford-on-Avon. Each evening we had a get-together (socially distanced) and were entertained by our very own DJ, Mark, who also regaled us with many funny jokes. Carol, our very talented poetess, gave us some of her latest renditions. One night we had a nostalgia quiz which was >> September 2021 MOTOR CARAVANNER 29
