Kopiec Kościuszki (the Kościuszko Mound) is an artificial hill created to honour the nation’s hero over a hundred years ago. It alludes to pagan tradition of burying great heroes
in tumuli. Two of them can be found in Kraków, one devoted to the legendary pagan prince Krak and the other to his daughter Wanda.
