l’étoile magazine, Cliché and Loft 2 are proud to present the third annual SCENEaSOTA, a Minnesota-grown fashion show. This year’s inspired runway show boasts high production value, bolstered by the continual growth and talent in the local fashion scene. SCENEaSOTA represents a cross section of Twin Cities artistic talent—a place where fashion, photography, film, design and music combine to foster creative growth for designers and the community at large. SCENEaSOTA 2010 will be a dynamic experience for attendees. On top of amazing fashion from both emerging and veteran Twin Cities designers, the event will offer a pre-show reception that includes drink specials, appetizers, DJs, a meet and greet with the designers and a sneak preview of the art work featured in the space. The party continues after the runway with DJs and dancing.

Jenn Bratvold graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in studio art, and spent the next few years flipping through Vogue, waiting tables in Uptown, and visiting museums. The qualities she loves in artwork are the same as those she admires in fashion; line, texture, color. Bratvold serves on local fashion industry committees and will complete her studies in the design program at St. Catherine University this year.

Designer Lauren Neal is a metalsmith focused on creating jewelry with everlasting mystery and brutal beauty‌transforming precious metals using oldworld techniques with modern design. Britta Feuerhelm spent the past year studying at London College
of Fashion and apprenticing with Product Designer Eelko Moorer. She enjoys the many challenges of the design process and aims to inspire people through dress. Her designs are innovative, constructed to fit well and are culturally and historically relevant.
Ann Lambrecht Influenced by a formal education in design, Ann
designs jewelry by intricately blending precious metals, gemstones and talismans. She strives to create jewelry that is both beautiful and meaningful. Travels to ancient civilizations and exotic cultures provide the source and inspiration for many creations. Gemstones and found objects are collected for their intrinsic beauty and combined onto gracious and extraordinary jewelry.
Kathryn V (aka Kathryn Sterner) draws
inspiration from places and people, from the attitudes and environments that they create. While she is constantly changing and experiencing new things that impact her designs, she sees to it that each garment portrays its own unique spirit. Sterner works to create clothing that can stand alone, or be incorporated into many other looks.
TimmiLynn Johnson has been making jewelry for 6 years now. She has always enjoyed being creative and is constantly inspired by everything.

Jenny Carle is a clothing designer
who specializes in feminine and classic silhouettes. Her work incorporates found and reused textiles, is strongly influenced by vintage design and the history of costume. Carle obtained her BA in apparel design and art from the College of St. Catherine and launched Jenny Carle Designs in 2008.
Tasha Rae is a Minneapolis based
metal-smith and designer of couture and production jewelry. She works to find harmony between structure, practicality, and aesthetics while establishing the union of movement, body, and object.

Frances Zerr An inspired mixture of handwork and a modern aesthetic sensibility,
Frances’ work is an attempt to overcome the contraction between fashion and sustainability at its core. For SCENEaSOTA, Frances introduces ANNA, a transitional line of separates for Fall 2010. ANNA is 100% organic, handmade, and intended to fulfill the modern woman’s need for go-to cool pieces she can feel good about wearing.
Ruby3 Anna Lee is a Minneapolis-based milliner and designer with a heart for
community and a mind for industry development for local independent fashion design. Anna founded MNfashion in response to the success of Voltage: Fashion Amplified, the Midwest’s premier rock-n-roll fashion show. With over 8 years of apparel development and manufacturing experience, Anna has been designing for more than 15 years and producing events for over 10 years. She has also worked with the Walker Arts Center, Minnesota Historical Society, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Fashion Group International, the Textile Center and the Plains Art Museum.

Kevin Kramp is an emerging
men’s knitwear designer recognized internationally for his sophisticated high-concept work, including innovative exploration of shape and beautiful use of color, pattern, stitch technique, and luxury fiber. Kramp’s creative work has earned coverage in international fashion and style publications, as well as several grants and awards. Kramp holds Bachelor’s degrees in Visual Art and Italian Studies from Brown University, and Fashion Design from London’s Central St. Martins College of Art and Design. Shoes from Phenom. Ferociter is a Minneapolis-based
fashion jewelry line by Aimie Dukes. Utilizing her background in art and design, Aimie handcrafts bold jewelry for the fashion-forward through combining new and vintage materials. Ferociter has been recognized by publications such as the Star Tribune, Metro Magazine and Time Out New York and has participated in local fashion shows since 2008.

CLAITH
WITH BIONIC UNICORN
Carmichael Claith (aka Christine Carmichael) draws inspiration from places
and styles such as the Scottish Highlands, historical English sporting attire, and traditional folk and children’s stories. These inspirations are paired with modern tailoring and timeless silhouettes to create clothing lines that evoke the nostalgia of times past and distant places, yet maintain a distinctly modern and urban feel.
Bionic Unicorn features modern fairytale and fantasy statement
jewelry. Designer Kristin Berwald is inspired by art history, color, and organic shapes, and enjoys using salvaged and recycled materials to create eco friendly and wearable works of art.
Raul Osorio explores the idea of hard
lines versus soft textures and masculine silhouettes versus feminine lightness and style. Osorio grew up in Honduras, where he studied construction under his mother and grandmother in their sewing academy. Raul possesses an attention to tailoring and detail that is unmistakable.
Freedom From Doubt hit the fashion world in 2009 with a fresh take on the dapper gentleman. Designer Jared Zachary developed his eye for design studying architecture, but soon became more interested in fashion. The brand offers accessories that will highlight individuality with unique, versatile pieces for any styled wardrobe.
