Our homely clubhouse warmly welcomes everyone who visits us. The Course T
he golf course opened in 1995 and was designed by the renowned architect David Williams as an 18-hole, par 72 course layout. A traditional parkland course, it plays a testing 6,246 yards off the white championship tees and has a Standard Scratch Score of 71, just one below the par. But it provides something far more important than length alone - a great deal of fun!

While by no means short, there is no call to hit driver on every hole and accuracy is often more important that distance. The most challenging aspect is arguably provided by the tricky greens, eight of which have tiered slopes, so it calls for the right choice of club for the approach shot to avoid a costly three-putt. Built to a very high standard with modern USGA specification greens and tees, the course is immaculate all year round. We have some of the best fairways you’ll find, as well as dry and firm tees in play all year round - no mats here!
The course has been laid out over some of the best countryside in Surrey. The elevated tee shots on the par 3 holes provide some wonderful views across our parkland course and lake which you will encounter on holes fourteen and fifteen. However, you don’t have to endure testing uphill holes as the very skilful design provides easy walking for most golfers, with the two levels being traversed with three par 3’s and a short par 4 so you hardly notice the chance in gradient!

You can enjoy four great par fives and four imaginative par threes of high quality, yet none of the par fours are overly intimidating and all offer birdie chances in return for a couple of good shots. Talk to anyone that has played Reigate Hill and the hole that is mentioned above all others is the 14th, a quite thrilling par 5 with a lake to be negotiated. The drive is crucial and the second more so: it is a question of whether you can get far enough down to go for the green in two or whether you have to play around the water.

The 7th is a split-fairway par 5, giving players a choice of which side to attack before playing into a green that is well defended by strategically placed bunkers.

The club is affiliated with 30 other clubs called The Golf Club Network, a concept which offers 7 and 5 day members free midweek golf and privileged playing rights at weekends at other clubs adding significant value to your membership. The subscription year begins in April for 7 and 5 day members and fees are prorata for those joining part-way through the year. There is also a payment scheme called Fairway Credit which enables members to pay monthly by direct debit.
Your payment is converted into golf credits (please see website for pricing tariff ) which are deducted each time you play depending on whether it is a weekday or weekend and whether you tee off before or after 2pm during the summer or noon in winter.
We also have the flexible plus membership option which was introduced in 2009. Now well established it has proved to be very popular with golfers that only get to play occasionally but would still like to benefit from being a member of a club..
If you use up your golf credits you can simply top up and any unused golf credits will rollover when you renew.

Membership Categories Seven Day Membership A full member may play golf at all permitted times and will have full use of the clubhouse and its facilities at all times. A full member has tee-time booking rights up to one month in advance. Five Day Membership A five day member may play golf at all permitted times on weekdays, other than Bank Holidays, and will have full use of the clubhouse and its facilities at all times. A five-day member has tee- time booking rights up to one month in advance. Flexible Plus Membership A seven day membership on a ‘pay as you play’ basis which also entitles Flexible members to tee-time booking rights up to 7 days in advance. Joint Membership There are 4 sub-categories of joint membership, which give co-habiting partners equal rights to: 1) 7 Day membership for both 2) 5 Day membership for both 3) 7 Day membership for one and 5 Day membership for the other 4) Flexible Plus membership for both Student, Intermediate & Intermediate Plus Available to adults between 18 and 29 years old. Junior Junior membership is available to anyone aged 18 years old and under on April 1 in a given year. eigate Hill is able to offer its members a great deal of competitive golf throughout the year, both against other clubs and alongside fellow members in club competitions.
Men The Men arrange a number of fixtures with other clubs, including competitive matches such as The Four Hills Trophy and the Surrey Hills League. Whilst these were formed to foster friendship and camaraderie, they are also played within the healthy confines of competitive golf.

The Surrey Hills Golf League features four other teams as well as Reigate Hill: Farleigh, Woldingham, Surrey National and Surrey Downs.
One round is played at each course with 10 players in each team, though it does not have to be the same 10 players each match.
Played home and away each season from March through to September, matches are contested at weekends and are generally preceded by breakfast.
The total number of stableford points for each club from each venue is carried forward to the next round, with the club with the highest total number of points from the four rounds being deemed the winners.
Teams are made up of 10 players per club with the format being fourball better-ball over point-per-hole matchplay, so 90 points are available in each fixture. The Four Hills Trophy is played for on an annual basis in late July and August between the four local clubs with Hill in their name, the others being Kings Hill, Broke Hill and Dale Hill.
Reigate Hill is also a proud supporter of the knockout events organised by the Surrey Golf Union such as the Surrey Fives and The Kelso Hamilton Trophy.

During the winter and summer we run singles, pairs and mixed pairs matchplay knockout competitions. If you lose in the first round of the singles you will then be entered into a plate competition. The summer finals are played on Finals Day in October. Ladies The Ladies play in the Daily Mail Foursomes and the Mail on Sunday competitions, both major national knockout events that start in February. They are also keen supporters of county-organised events such as the Pearson Trophy, which is played in a group format over the winter months. Playing Categories Section winners progress to a knockout phase, with the winners going on to represent Surrey against the champions from Hertfordshire, Kent and Middlesex in a finals day to decide the overall champion. They also play in other Surrey events such as the Inter Club Handicap Foursomes and the Druce Trophy, a one-day foursomes medal handicap eclectic, featuring four members from each club, two of whom must be Category 4 golfers. There are many friendlies against other clubs, which generally feature eight players per team and are either followed by a convivial lunch or preceded by a light breakfast bite then tea and cake afterwards. www.reigatehillgolfclub.co.uk
(Continued) There are many cups to be won within the club, the most sought-after being the Club Championship which is contested over 36 holes and two days with prizes for the best gross and net scores. Autumn gross and net competitions called the Stanley Vase and the Quantrell Cup are also popular, as are similar competitions in the spring called the Mulvey Bowl and Fuchsia Bowl. Seniors The seniors group at Reigate Hill are known as the Pilgrims after the Pilgrims’ Way, an ancient trail that crosses the course on its way from Winchester across the North Downs Way to Canterbury.
A thriving group of over-55s numbering nearly 100, they play three times during the week, starting with a Monday rollup open to all from 8.30am. On Wednesdays they dovetail with the men, every other week there is either a men’s competition or a Pilgrims’ competition. A sheet goes up on the noticeboard several weeks before and interested parties put their names down. Threesomes are then drawn, an unusual occurrence at clubs, but one which fosters friendship, avoids cliques and allows new members to be integrated into the club more quickly.

Playing Categories Fridays see another roll-up. The Bob King Classic, as it is known, is named after a member and is another popular and fun event. Again partners are drawn, but the unusual twist to this gathering is that partners do not play in the same pairings, so no-one knows who has won until everyone gets together at the end. The Pilgrims play informal matches against the men and ladies some featuring novel formats such as players only being allowed to play have three clubs and a putter in the bag. They also play against the Men each year for the Arthur Stanley Shield. (Continued) Another sought-after prize is the Malby Trophy, which is awarded to the player over 55 adjudged to have been the golfer of the year. There are 21 matches against other clubs, home and away, with the majority featuring 16 players on each team: eight four-ball encounters. These are all very friendly in nature and most include a sit-down meal afterwards. Like their younger counterparts, the Pilgrims also keenly contest Surrey Golf Union events such as the Surrey Seniors Inter-Club Knockout known as the John Ling Trophy.
Taking place midweek, this is a knockout event featuring teams of 10 players (five pairs) over a four-ball, better-ball format off handicap. The finals, where possible, are played at the club of the previous year’s winners, generally in early September. Juniors The Juniors section at Reigate Hill enjoyed something of a rebirth in 2011. Keen to promote and encourage our younger players we have seen this group grow considerably with juniors attracted by the preferential membership rates and the prospect of a great deal of competitive golf on our outstanding course.

With access to an outside seating area and a private bar if required we can cater comfortably for up to 60 delegates. The Lakeview Room This extension to the existing building was completed in spring 2008. This beautifully light and spacious room is ideally suited for meetings of between 10 and 30 delegates. Up to 20 can be seated around the boardroom table, although alternative seating layouts make it possible to accommodate more if necessary. Presentations can be made using the 50� HD Plasma screen TV and wireless Internet is available. There is direct access to the room’s own private balcony, which has a panoramic view over the 18th green and golf course beyond. This versatile room is also ideal for private dining parties for up to 30 people.
The Hooper Room For smaller gatherings, the Hooper Room is ideal for business meetings of up to 10 delegates. Away from the hectic surroundings of a normal working day, this room is quiet and secluded and offers an excellent environment in which to conduct business. Directions to the club We are conveniently located just three minutes from Junction 8 of the M25. After leaving the motorway, take the A217 southbound signposted Reigate, but turn left almost immediately on to Back Lane and Gatton Bottom. Follow this road for a mile and a half and the entrance to the club is on the right.
Public transport The nearest railway station is Merstham, which is around two miles, or a six-minute taxi ride away. Frequent trains run direct to London Bridge, with the quickest journey time around 32 minutes.
From the A23, the club is roughly equidistant between Redhill to the south and Merstham to the north. Turn left into Rocky Lane heading north (right if heading south).

We can keep active playing golf but if we want to play golf and enjoy energised lives into our 90s we need to maintain flexibility, core strength, muscle tone & cardiovascular fitness – this won’t happen by just playing golf! At Bodies in Design it is our motto to Live Younger Longer. It is our belief (and we have proved this with our clients hundreds of times) that if we maintain or improve the elements listed above we can continue to enjoy an active and energetic lifestyle for a much longer time - decades longer.

Our bodies’ naturally begin to lose muscle from the age of 30 – this reduces our metabolism (meaning we eat less but get fatter) and decreases the power we have available to hit the ball further – however, using the correct techniques we can reverse this process and actually improve our strength and stay/ become lean! We know these techniques and teach them every day. If you are hitting the ball in the middle of the club but it still doesn’t go far enough then it must be a combination of power, flexibility and stability that you need to improve – we will show you how!

We are also running Pilates Reformer Classes specifically designed for the golfer as well as general classes. These machines help us to safely perform exercises without impact on the joints.
