The participants were asked to donate a minimum amount of P20 to cover the school supplies needs of these children in time for the opening of classes this June. . “Lakaw ta” tagline. The distribution of school kits, foods and stuff for the beneficiaries were given right after the messages of Solidarity of Engr. Melbert Macarambon, Vice President, AWATUTUCP, Mr. Nicandro L. Borja, the regional Director, ALU-TUCP and Mr. Joel Gabatan of Alliance of Progressive Labor. Meanwhile, DOLE-10 Regional Director Atty. Johnson Cañete expressed appreciation to all those who supported the project. “If I were to describe the event in one word, it is, indeed, a success!” Cañete said after the walk.

MAMBAJAO, Camiguin - The local government of Mambajao will carry out a P.5-million bottled sardines project to back the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (Kalipi) beneficiaries who have undergone training in sardines processing. Town Mayor Ma. Luisa D. Romualdo will lead the management and operation of the project until it becomes a viable enterprise after which it will be turned over to the local government for a communitybased operation.
