he 2013 local and national elections in Davao Region occurred without major untoward issues or incidents.

Glitches in some of the Precinct Count Optical Scanners (PCOS) were reported while some voters had complaints of not finding or having difficulty finding their precincts, though these problems were not as major as to affect the successful holding of the second automated elections in the country’s history. By the evening, the Board of Canvassers had reconvened in the respective areas as the machines began to transmit the votes. MATI CITY, DAVAO ORIENTAL During the early hours of the morning, voters flocked at polling stations, eager to cast their ballots. In Mati City Central Elementary School 4

alone, there are 8 clustered precincts with roughly 8,000 registered voters, making it one of the biggest polling areas in Mati City, Erwin Fernandez of Philippine Information Agency- XI reported. DAVAO CITY Senior Superintendent Ronald de la Rosa, director of the Davao City Police Office assessed a relatively peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections as of 9:30 am Monday. Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte also cited the zero major untoward incidents in the City during the conduct of the May 13 elections.
