Rodriguez, Butuan City. Attending the closing ceremonies of the week-long celebration were top regional officials and personnel from the national line agencies led by the National Police Commission, the DILG, PDEA, BFP, CHR, CIDG, PNP top regional officials and personnel, among with the representatives from the various sectors of the community. sisted by DILG Regional Director Rene K. Burdeos, NAPOLCOM Regional Director Remeneo D. Valenzuela and PRO 13 DRDA PSSupt. Isagani F. Genabe, Jr., said during her message that as she witnessed the awardees of the occasion and as a participant herself in the giving of the awards in which the recipients were from the various sectoral representations said that it was “an eye opener for her and really reinforces her belief that all efforts (of crime prevention and solution) will take a whole community to do it.” Matba pointed out that crime prevention cannot be done by the police organization alone. “They needed also the assistance and

the services of the baranggay captains, the village chiefs (datus), the civilian volunteers’ organizations and the rest of others,” she said. According to her that the theme of the celebration “Pinoy Ako, Crime Prevention Misyon Ko,” simply implies that each of us has also our responsibilities to perform. She at the same time admonished the police that in the course of the performance of their duties they also have to consider the rights of the citizenry. “There should always be the balance of things to be considered. In your zeal of performing your respective duties, you also have to consider the respect of the rights of the citizens,” she said. 29 Friday, September 16, 2011
