he parks are alive with the sounds of music and drama. Enjoy a variety of summer evening concerts including jazz, rock ‘n roll, country, soul, hip-hop, and blues music at

parks throughout Prince George’s County. The popular Shakespeare in the Parks program returns with performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at a variety of park sites in July. Grab a blanket or lawn chairs, pack a picnic dinner and bring your family and friends to relax and enjoy hot fun in the summertime!

SATURDAY, AUGUST 11, 6 PM Join us as we see the Civil War through the eyes of Hollywood. We begin the series with The Red Badge of Courage. Reservations encouraged. Space is limited. FREE

Blast in the Past, a hands-on history playground at Montpelier Mansion/Historic Site, will be open until 7 pm before the show on July 20 and 27. Kids can play while they learn about life in 18th century Maryland; families can explore the boxwood maze and herb garden, or take the grounds tour. Bring a picnic, or purchase dinner from food vendors on the grounds.

Enjoy evenings of outdoor fun with friends and family. Take unlimited rides on the train and carousel, and rounds of miniature golf for one price per person. The outdoor patio and surrounding grounds are a perfect place to bring and enjoy snacks or dinner! Beverages and snacks are available from the vending machines in the Refreshment Depot. Please note: Advance tickets are not available; purchases are made on site each evening and for that date only. VISA, MasterCard and cash are accepted.

Enjoy an evening at the movies along with fun, hands-on activities and games beforehand. Popcorn and sno-cones will be served throughout the evening.
